We love it!
This game is a terrific successor to Little Big Planet 1. In some ways, though, this game might just be better. Nearly everything in the first game is back but the new stuff (bonus Toy Story world, bonus downloads, the cars to drive, the guns to shoot, the additional creation tools, etc.) make it much more enjoyable. I was worried that the story modes and other arcades in this edition of the game wouldn't be as "big" as they seemed to be in the first edition. I was wrong. I was also worried that the increased ability to create worlds would compromise the game's playable content. I suppose my concern was that the playable content would be reduced in order to provide more creativity tools. That, too, is unwarranted. This game proved to be our Christmas 2011 highlight. It has something for everyone--and having the ability to play levels created by others online has only increased the fun. This game has been played by everyone in our home (ages, 8, 10, 12, 14, 40, 41) and has provided lots of laughter and fun times. It's refreshing to see games like this come along that are fun, challenging and wholesome.

great follow up
This game is a great follow up to the first little big planet. If you already have a file on the first lbp then it allows you to keep all of your costumes, outfits, stickers, items, and all downloaded content. you can access all DLC levels and even acquire them if you don't have the first one. The game has better effects and allows you to play as the creators. only complaint is that it wasn't has long and hard as the first one, but I love challenging games. this game is defiantly good for little kids because of the difficulty level. the levels are fun and you don't have to buy many outfits because it allows you to get full outfits (not DLC) and all of their parts. this game is definitely worth 10 dollars. definitely worth 25 dollars. A great deal for a great game.

Servers are down so it ain't what it used to be
Sony wanted to take the entire store down over the summer of 2021. User reaction was such that they reversed the decision. However, I guess the Little Big Planet PS3 servers got hacked and the response was to just take them offline. That community was a big part of the game. It gave you access to an endless array of content. Still, the game is a solid one

This is an amazing game. My son just turned 6 and he's having so much fun making his own levels. I also have the original LBP and I feel like this one is more user friendly in some ways with level creation, but then again, maybe we're just getting better? Off the top of my head, I don't have anything bad to say about this game. It takes some getting used to the controls and there are some things we want to do in create mode, but can't figure out how to do it. But overall, it's lots of fun and we came across maybe one glitch. Of course I had to help him with some of the tougher parts but we had lots of fun beating the game together and over a short time he's gotten better than me. Totally got our money's worth with this one.

Little Big Planet 2: Special Edition
Overall this is a pretty good game. I bought this for my 7 year old son, who loves this game. He does however, have problems in some spots. I guess that will depend on you or your child's gaming experience level. Neither my husband nor I had much trouble with it. There are a few challenges but nothing I thought was that bad. You are going to have to download some updates. Also, one thing that can be annoying is that it will sometimes freeze up. This doesn't happen a lot but it does happen. This is my only PS3 game that does this too so not really sure what the problem is. Otherwise, it's all around pretty good and fun everyone can enjoy. One other note, the character customization is pretty nice. The added Disney costumes are nice.

disappointing follow-up to an incredible original
My partner and I both agree that the levels/mechanics are more tedious; the aesthetic more cheap (does not capture the same real collage look of the first, and just lacks the variety and excellent detail of the first); and the music outright sucked (an especially surprising let down, and a major annoyance). They really failed to retain the charm of the original. (The aesthetic and music basically made the first game, so I don't know what they were thinking.) The introduction of the 3-4 player bonus sections should have just been separate areas/activities. The characters should never talk (why in the world did they elect to have them talk). The story-line was ... just lame. Many levels/areas/additions were glitchy. (I'm looking at you, grappling hook.) And the final boss fight? Wow developers, did you just not even test it? The only reason why I give the game two stars--the only truly enjoyable new part of the game is this laser cannon versus activity(/mini-game). They honestly should have developed that into a full-length game.

Fun addition to the LBP craftverse
Fun installment. My daughter and I played the original Little Big Planet together. This sequel carries on the fun, and incorporates some of the themes from LittleBigPlanet Karting and original LBP. Great game for younger kids. My daughter started playing this at 7 or 8. She’s 9 almost 10 and still loves it. Good natured and kind hearted fun. I picked it up on Amazon marketplace as a used title. Goodwill of Colorado. Disc is perfect. Case is in good shape. Glad to support the Goodwill stores and find fun older PS3 titles.
