10-1/2-inch seed tray has a fluid design to match the sophisticated lines of the onyx feeders. This ingenious tray design allows the tray to remain on the base of the feeder when removing the base for cleaning. Attaches easily with the sturdy wing nut (included) that nests under the tray. Feeder and tray rest firmly on the ground during refilling. Uv stabilized polycarbonate. Made in the usa. Fits: onyx clever clean feeders, ring pull feeders, new generation feeders, a and b size classic feeders and the a-6rp and th-3rp. Dimensions: 10-1/2 by 10-1/2 by 2 (assembled). Mounting: attaches to base of feeder. Construction: uuv stabilized polycarbonate.

Works quite nicely. It doesn't exactly prevent some of the seeds from spilling over to the ground, but it is extremely popular with the wild birds in our backyard. Particularly bigger birds like the blue jays, the red cardinals, and a red bellied woodpecker seem to enjoy eating the seeds that fell down on the tray, more than trying to dig out seeds from the feeder. So it's been quite successful. It does get very dirty though, so it's yet another piece to clean on a regular basis. I use it with the Droll Yankees CC18S bird feeder.

Good product, well made
Good product, well made. But, I should have known the squirrels would take advantage of it. I removed it from the birdfeeder and put it in storage when I found a squirrel sitting on it helping himself to the bird seed. I thought the little buggers didn't like black oil sunflower seeds - wrong! The squirrels in my neighborhood love them!

Great attachment for the feeder
This tray screws into the bottom of my Droll Yankees feeder and catches the seeds the birds spill. They also like to perch on the rim or stand in the tray and pick through the available seed to find their favorites. The drain holes prevent water build up so the seed doesn't rot. It's a sturdy plastic that has held up well so far - I highly recommend this for anyone with a Droll Yankees feeder! So far, I have several house finches who like to use the seed in the tray - the female in particular. I also have seen a Carolina Chickadee hop around and pick through the available seed offerings. I love my bird feeder!

Again with the Missing Wing Nut
UPDATE: Returned the original item for the exact same order. This time came with the wing nut securely in place. This one also had the product description cover. The original tray must have been used or returned because it was missing both the wing nut and the product cover. I added 1 star because of the great customer service to return and get a replacement for free. But I am still leaving the other 2 stars off for the mix up in the first place--both Amazon and Droll Yankees can do better with this product. On the positive note, the wing nut has a nice hook. This will allow me to hang a finch feeding back underneath.ORIGINAL: Same problem as some other customers: missing wing nut. This product was shipped from and sold by Amazon.com. I have never had a problem with items from Amazon.com before. So, I am quite disappointed. I cannot find a way for them to just ship me the wing nut. I will have to go through the trouble of shipping this item back to get a replacement item just to get the wing nut. Seriously?! I am not confident that the same thing would not happen again. Droll Yankee--are you seeing these reviews with the missing part? Both Amazon and Droll Yankee are great brands/companies. Yet, someone is dropping the ball (or wing nut) here.As for the tray itself, it looks like a high quality item. Fits nicely and looks great with my Droll Yankees CC18S 18-Inch Onyx Clever Clean Sunflower Tube Bird Feeder. The tray material looks like it is made with the same quality plastic as the tube feeder. I just cannot attach it to the feeder. And, no I do not want to go to a hardware store to purchase a "plastic pipe fitting with 1/2" male NPT threads." I want and was expecting the wing nut with a hook so that I can attach my finch sock feeder to the bottom.

I'm so glad I purchased this
I purchased this along with the tall Droll feeder for black oiled sunflower seeds. The larger tray makes it perfect for Cardinals and Grosbeaks to perch on and get their seeds. I usually spread a few seeds on the tray when I fill up the feeder. They will also stand on the tray and get seeds out of the bottom holes.

... FINCH SEED FEEDERS I thought the tray was a great idea, especially since we have another one made ...
NOT SUITABLE FOR FINCH SEED FEEDERS I thought the tray was a great idea, especially since we have another one made by a different company but this seed tray was a disaster for a feeder full o finch seed! The millet fell through the tray and piled up on the ground!

Get his seed tray if you have an 18-inch Onyx feeder
If you buy a Droll Yankees CC18S 18-Inch Onyx feeder, this is an essential accessory. Birds will eat from the tray and thus prevent a lot of seed waste. It will also save a lot of work cleaning up after the birds. We learned this the hard way after black fungus grew on the ground.

For Droll Yankee feeders only.
Not all feeders are alike even if judging by the picture. Tough plastic, nicely made. Does not fit Aspect feeders. Well it can fit but it took a couple of threaded plastic pipe fittings to make it work. If I had Droll Yankee feeders I would totally recommend.
