Thomas the Train: Take-n-Play Sodor Supply Co.

I have 2 grandsons who are both into Thomas and Chuggington. A lot of the trains don't come with cars and the boys want to pull several cars like they do in the shows, so these are great.

We needed rolling stock for our Thomas trains! This was perfect and my son loves that the green car can "dump" out it's cargo when we get to the station.

My son loves Thomas, but this set seems like a silly addition. I'll tell you why I bought it: I used to work in wire manufacturing and we produced reels of wire that look like the ones in the set. My son likes running them around the rails, but for one, the pipe car is huge, easily the length of the longest engines, and mostly metal. The reel car and the reels are mostly plastic. We have another car similar to the reel car but colored green with no cargo. I put a small square of wax paper over it and cut some bamboo skewers to length and used wood glue to make them a solid bundle. The wax paper allowed me to make it a good tight fit to the round shape and not glue it to the base. Now my son calls it a "Jobi log truck" so he can play Misty Island Rescue.

The Sodor Supply Co. is really neat. The conduit car has a lever where you can unload the conduit. Highly recommend

DESIGN PROBLEM -- Cargo won't stay on! -- Big carriage too long for curves. -- Smaller cargo can't be picked up by crain cause it doesn't have any metal in it (the bigger cargo does). By themsevles these are fantastic carriages. The problem is that the Fisher Price team didn't design them to work on the matching Take n Play sets. The cargo (pipes) stay on if you're rolling them along a flat table. The problem is that all of the current Take n Play sets are all really really bumpy. They haven't tested these at all to make sure it works well together. There is almost no way little kids will be able to keep the cargo on the faltbeds. Also the larger of the two carriages is too long for some of the turns and it will fall over and derail. For instance, it doesn't make the turn in front of the Tidmoth Sheds. That's more of a problem with the poor design of the tracks. The carriages themselves are great by themselves. It's just that carriages and the sets they run on are supposed to work together well and match... and they don't. The first problem could be fixed pretty easily by better railings to keep the cargo on. Or perhaps a small magnet to stick it the surface of the flatbed.

My Grandson has alot of the take-n-play trains so he will like this just as much as all the others that he has.

Bon produit, solide, compatible avec les autres trains de la même série. Seul regret, le chargement, qui est amovible, n'est pas aimanté. Donc en pratique ça tombe tout le temps. La wagon vert a un bouton pour effectuer le déchargement. Sinon, rien à redire. C'est difficile de trouver des wagons simples pour rallonger les trains. La série comporte surtout des locomotives.
