Needed adjustment
The arm of the latch I received was not bent at the correct angle to have the arm hit and close the latch. I had to build up the latch by placing washers between the latch and gate. A minor fix but frustrating non the less.

Very good quality stainless. Only downside is the length of the screws. I don't recommend using them.

Sturdy, smooth action, but bring your own screws
It's heavy duty stainless steel with very smooth action, feels and sounds solid. Opens and closes flawlessly with no clattering. The tiny screws that come with it are a joke, I set them aside and instead used proper #8 stainless steel 1.5" screws instead.

Simple yet effective latch for my backyard fence gate. 👍🏻

Poor hardware quality
The screws included are way too short, the post ripped out a chunk of wood that it was attached to within a week of being installed on a new redwood gate. Also, it's a little shorter than it looks in the picture, and the image with dimensions doesn't show how much distance from the ball end to the screw holes, which is what you need to know. It was just barely enough for the gate it's installed on. The latch feels a little flimsy too, but so far it's okay.

Great product, great price & rust-free.
I had made tow slatted timber gates for either side of the house & initially used a traditional turn-handle latch. Sadly within days they were showing signs of rust & within months were falling apart. Moral of the story - simple is best - reach over to operate when opening from the outside, gently pull too to latch when closing & no rusty marks on my gates!

This gate catch works very well, unlike some others,the angle of attack is good, so gate does not bounce back.It it was a little larger, I would have given it 5 stars.
