fast and easy, hope this one lasts longer than the previous one
this is the second time i have bought this item. the original unit worked fine for the first year but then just stopped working. i have read that this is a common problem with these. however when it works it is a really easy way to save your files. it does take many hours to do the first back up just so you know

great, just hope it keeps working.
I've been using it for about two months now. It took a bit to set it up, because I wanted it to save a lot of very large directories, but once it copied all that stuff, the updates are very quick. I keep it plugged in, and once or a few times a day (not sure how it decides, but it has settings I could use to specify a time if I wanted. It must be on random or something now.), it will pop up and copy and changes. When I check its directories, everything seems to be there. My computer makes me grant permission if I'm sitting here, but doesn't seem to require that if the computer is dormant. I wish it would just go without me having to click ok, but that's an issue with my computer, not the backup drive. I like the capacity, and the fact that it runs on its own, without me having to remember to backup (because I wouldn't). It's quiet, but starts to vibrate once in a while. It usually stops if I touch it or move it. The real test will be if it keeps going for a bunch of years. After losing lots of data every time my computer breaks, I am really glad I have an automatic backup so that I won't be totally F'ed if I suddenly need a new computer again. I had a backup last time my computer broke, but it wasn't automatic, and I was basically just copying a few large directories every time I wanted to backup, so it would take a while. I also hadn't backed up in a month or so, so I could have lost all that new work if I hand't been able to backup again after the computer broke (screen light went out so I could barely see it, but I was able to copy my important files over again). I'm using my old seagate (660Gb) backup (which has been working great for at least a year) to store GIS data. The Clickfree is set up to automatically back that up too, when it does my computer (if the GIS drive is plugged in). I would have given it 5 stars except that it hasn't yet proven itself against the test of time, which I hope it will.

Nice Product - Lousy Ad Software Installed
I ordered this product and paid the full price for it. When I got it I plugged it in and the first thing it wants to do is update it's software. Well I shouldn't have done that as after some research I find out that this update installs an ad that runs a video from YouTube EVERY SINGLE TIME THE SOFTWARE STARTS. There is NO WAY to stop this ad from running each and every time you run the backup. You can click past it but this is a real intrusion to a fine product. Now I don't trust the software or the backup to just keep my files locally. I would caution anyone considering this product that if you do buy it DO NOT update it. Apparently that is where I got this auto run garbage. You can Google this problem and I'm not the only one talking about it. But I wish I would have seen a review like this one first as I would NOT have purchased this. It's a shame that such a nice idea is ruined by a spam ad that you can not shut off. Buyer beware of this little addition to it's software.

Beware of Kooboodle Software that downloads from Clickfree
While I like the way Clickfree drives function, with this drive I found a surprising and very unwanted addition. Whenever Clickfree loads, it installs a program called Kooboodle. From reviews, it is, at minimum, junk ware; at the worst, it is spy ware or even mal ware.Until Clickfree removes this "junk", I'll find another source for my backups.

It works very well, but beware of LSO cookies
It works very well. I have an older model Clickfree backup, only 160 GB, and that still works also. The only thing I don't like about the newer model is that is leaves something called LSO (locally shared object) cookies on your computer, just by plugging it in and using it. These types of cookies are NOT desirable to have on your computer system - essentially spyware. I run Firefox with an app called "Better Privacy" which deletes them. Normal cookie blockers - even Ghostery - cannot delete them or even block them. Although it works very well for backup and restore purposes, needless to say I will not be using their mobile app because heaven only knows what traces or potential spyware it may leave on your mobile device.

This is my second ClickFree
I purchased a ClickFree for my PC and now I ordered one for my new Mac. What a wonderful little unit. Easy to use and small enough to keep close to my computer.

No problems with clickfree.
I used a clickfree for several years without problems until it ran out of storage space. This new one with 1TB is just as good. Easy to use and easy to check what is being saved. ie: pictures and documents, etc.

clickfree
I liked it but it was a little harder to use than I thought because it didn't come up with the instructions on screen that was in the papers but I got it backed up.

Einfach gut.

Fast & easy at doing a necessary chore!
Fast & easy at doing a necessary chore! With USB 3 the 1st. back-up, of over 600GB, took about 2 hours & the sequential back-ups there after are even faster.Just one small thing: the cable is very short.I have an older model of clickfree, with a USB 2 cable, that's twice the length. It's not so much of an issue with my new MacBook Pro with USB 3 as the backing-up is so quick the unit doesn't get too hot. But, with my older MacBook with USB 2 the unit gets very hot, with the longer back-up times, that a longer cable is better. I once made the mistake of resting the unit ON the laptop during a long back-up & the heat cracked the plastic surface of my MacBook. This shorter cable makes it harder to loop it around so it lies flat on the table beside the laptop & sometimes it's easier to hold it in my hand: I'm not resting the unit ON the laptop ever again.

The C2 works fine, it's fast and easy
Have had Clickfree before, had to get a larger storage capacity. I have no idea why, but I tried a C6 because I wanted to backup my whole computer and it wouldn't work. The C2 works fine, it's fast and easy. Unfortunately, I paid a lot more for it as Amazon has lowered the price.

Great easy to use
Great easy to use, but word of warning, if you use Panda security and have it set to scan USB devices, this will not work Click free and will not install easily. If you have trouble loading and using it, check your antivirus/security settings and you may find you need to turn them off/down grade them them when you first install this click free device and when you back up. BUT DON'T GIVE UP. it does work and works well, just need to work out why you may be having problems to start with as i did, and it was down to Panda Anti Virus Secuirty, NOT Click free.
