just what I expected
I recently had to dispose of my 20" scroll saw to make more room in my little apartment and got this for small projects. I have had experience with jewelers saws before, and knew that there would be a learning curve with this tool because of its deep throat and different balance. Fretwork with a hand saw is an acquired skill and only time and practice will tell how well I learn it. One thing I can say is that this is a good saw. While I am here, I would like to comment on a couple of complaints I read in other comments. First, no blade. The fact is that this saw is made for over a thousand different different sizes and types of scroll saw blades, each designed for a different type project. In addition it is made to accommodate all types of jewelers blades. If they had included a blade, chances are a thousand to one that that blade would be the wrong one for the job you want to do, and you would still have to go out and buy a pack of the right blades. Yes, a pack of blades. scroll saw blades are fragile and break easily, especially when you are learning how to use the saw. Once you learn to use the saw, the blades wear out quickly through ordinary use. Rather take a chance on the maker giving you the right blade, you should do the research, find out what kind of blade you need and order it for yourself along with the saw. Second point broken wingnuts. You should not have to send back to the maker to replace a broken wingnut. like any other type of nut or bolt, wingnuts conform to an international system of measurements. Just take your broken nut to your local hardware store and find the matching replacement.

Great saw
This saw totally met all expectations. It is a Saw, it does not come with a saw blade, How would the manufacturer know what type of sawblade you need? There’s only 832,000 different types of sawblades. This saw is for fine delicate work, it is not for forcefull heavy work. If you have to tighten the blades so hard that the wing nuts break, you have probably over tightened them. This saw was $20 cheaper than the equivalent saw at my local woodworking shop. Some complaints was that it was too heavy in weight. It needs to be heavy for sturdiness. The handle has stayed on because I don’t pull on it really hard as I let the blade do the work. My only complaint with this hand saw is that is didn’t come with a power cord. 😂 Easy to use, came with a page of instructions with pictures and was delivered courteously. I don’t know what else could be asked of a product, Unless it also came with an attractive lady to do the work for me while I watched and enjoyed a beverage. 5 stars.

mostly a good tool
the tab on the handle steel angle was only partially bent requiring a simple tool modification, but without any guarantee that the tab wouldn't just break off (which didn't happen (channel lock pliers did the job))...being a novice I had to look at a video to understand the instructions that came with it...

Great product, but
I purchased the fret saw to help me correct a problem with a glue up on a toy i'm making for my grandkids. I had to cut off 4 fenders from 10 in long wooden cars. I had the blades from my scroll saw, I just needed the reach of the fret saw. At first it worked very well. then, when i was half way into the first fender the wooden handle came off the tang. It had just been pushed on and not fastened in any way. I pushed it back on and changed my grip to hold the frame with one finger along with the handle. It slipped off one more time but I got the job done. When time permits i'll drill a hole through the handle and tang and put in a small screw. The rest of the saw is high quality. I was disappointed that they didn't complete the job by securing the handle to the frame. Since this tool is for occasional use only I'll keep it. If I needed it for everyday use I'd return it and spend the money on a Knew Concepts fret saw.

Great Saw
This saw turned out to be everything I hoped it to be when I ordered it. Assembled just like the directions showed. Cut great using the 360 degree blades that I ordered to go with it. The quality is every bit the quality of a similar coping saw I had years ago. Nice to buy a hand tool that has not "improved" for the worse. Thank you.

Works good
Works great. Was surprised it didn't come with a blade. Later realized it was my own fault. Description states that it is just the frame.Nice and sturdy. A bit unruly at times because of its length. That said, I would recommend
