Intercultural Competence (7th Edition) 7th Edition

Purchased this book for class and it was a trying class which is the only reason that I gave it a four stars instead of five. It’s full of great knowledge but it’s a little difficult for someone like me who isn’t so great with lots of knowledge at once! Otherwise it’s a great book.

The Intercultural Competence (7th Edition) book provides insight into the many aspects relating to intercultural communication patterns such as beliefs, values, norms and social practices . The authors provide a holistic view into the characteristics of each culture, and scholarly views to support their findings. My advice to every reader is to approach the text with an open mind, and with a flexible perception to be able to understand that there are differences in every culture. Be mindful, that generalizing every view or perception will differ from peripheral views. Finally, in my opinion, this is an excellent book, and I highly recommend it.

This was a required textbook. I used it for those purposes and once done it went back to the bookshelves. It may be referenced some day in the future.

Renting Intercultural Competence has been a life saver for me. This is the first time I rented a book and I am very happy that I found this option just before the start of class. The book, itself, is a very interesting and well written textbook. Real life examples are given to accent the subjects covered. I feel so much more intelligent because the book lays down a nice foundation in linquistics culture, verbal/nonverbal communication and life.

This book changed my life. My whole perspective on school has totally been wiped clean and has been replaced with the most insightful piece of text human kind has written. If you have not bought yourself a copy of this book yet, well to be frank, then you have not been treating yourself with any self respect.

Very inspiring and it really made me learn a lot about different cultures.I gain a whole new RESPECT to everyone around the world with their traditions, culture, beliefs, etc.I really recommend this book to everyone even if you don't take a class that require this book or any classes at all. It is always great to learn something new. I really hope everyone will give this book a shot. :)

This book really makes you think outside the box of your own cultural bubble. I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars because I think the print is a bit small, but the content of the material is great!

This comprehensive book is a huge help with cross-cultural communication. Well written with helpful charts and tables.
