Koss KPH14V Side Firing Headphone (Violet)

I collect old Sony and Aiwa Walkmans and when I go out I like to use Arnold Sony Sports because they're rain proof and keeps the tape safe. These headphones have a better mid and top range than the Sony so are clearer. Bass is controlled bit if you have an audio device with Mega Bass then that will up the bass considerably. Speech is clear and the I think Koss have a winner here. I also have the Porta Pro to listen in comfort so these are outdoors or bath time listening. Price wise I think they are pretty reasonable in comparison to other brands too. I appreciate audio quality and these tick the right boxes. Don't forget all headphones need a run in. Sounds daft but the membranes can be tight at first so Bass again will be tight. After about forty hours they are OK.

I was looking for a neat set of headphones. Found the mixed reviews confusing but Amazon Prime offered free returns. I am very pleased with them out of the box. Sound quality is great when tweaked with eq. OK they are not top of the range but with careful use they should last. I can understand some people might feel they are tight in the ear for prolongued listening but others have given suggestions for adjustment. Good value and very pleased. I hope they last.

I use these headphones on my daily 7 miles hike and they are very good and have kept on going through heavy horizontal rain.I use Koss headphones in the broadcast industry so that's why I purchased these.They need a couple of weeks to break in but as long as you don't listen to music at ear deafening volume you'll get good results with them.They aren't as good as the porta pro headphones but they are weather proof.I would say that these Koss headphones are about the same as the old sony mega bass headphones of the 80s & 90s that you used to get with walkmans.

Not as comfortable (but not as expensive) as the Sony equivalent.

I read the other reviews saying they’re a ‘tight fit’ but knowing my head is on the smaller side I ordered anyway and despite the fact they did fit my head - the ‘tightness’ as I discovered was that they ‘dig in’ to my ears so much as to make them uncomfortable to wear. They also have sharp plastic edges on the earpieces which makes this even more intolerable. Two unfortunate design flaws that sadly forced me to return them. Buyer beware etc.

These headphones are excellent. Every bit as good as the Sony headset it replaces. I don't know if the wires are any stronger, but the sound is brilliant, and, although I am slightly deaf, I can hear in stereo again with these.

To correct what amounts to a very silly design fault, I used a hacksaw to carefully cut off the top part of each sliding earpiece holder, removing the minimum possible amount of plastic needed to get rid of the closed end stop. The earpieces were then free to slide but still "bit" onto the headband assembly as long as they weren't pulled completely off. I used a small cable tie to clamp the sliding parts together at the desired length.They sound fine for the price and would receive 5 stars from me but for the thoughtless design.

Sony made a pair of these which i think they must of discontinued, they were more expensive than these ,i recommend these both for price and comfort.one can lie abed on ones side without intrusion and whatever sheerness means,

I bought a couple of these headphones as a backup to replace any current pair I used. They usually don't last long because either wires or one "leg" of a headphone get broken off. When it happened a few days ago I pulled one of these Koss headphones and connected it to my laptop. Firstly I had to lower the volume on my laptop in half, the sound level was much higher than on any I used previously. But what surprised most was the sound quality - it was amazingly clear and rich for such a low priced product. The only time I had such a satisfying experience was with the Sony headphones I bought in mid 90-es and they were not cheap. Well, I am not a trained musician, I just love to listen to the music, so a musical expert might have a different view but an average music listener would be quite satisfied with the quality.

Pues como todos dicen, buena calidad de sonido muy buenos, pero aprietan mucho y calan los oídos, hay que usar pistola de calor para aguadarlos un poco.

So I am in my mid-40’s and I do not like airpods or or any of those little cordless earbuds that go in the ear. I have super small, odd shaped ear canals and none of them stay in and are SUPER uncomfortable! I used to run into any store and buy these corded headphones that were perfect for exercising and everything else. They stopped selling them and I have been looking for them for almost 15 years and then I found these! No they don’t cancel sound as well as the super expensive ones you can buy but they bring me back to my teens and early 20’s and are EXACTLY what I was looking for. They sit on top of my head so the ear pieces obviously stay in my ear and I can hear the sound just fine and they are corded so I don’t ever lose them.

Child sized. Does not fit an adult’s head.
