not very effective cooling solution
ok, let me see if i can give a comprehensive review of this thing. First of all the pics in amazon make this thing look much bigger then it is, its it quite tiny. In addition, the fan does not put out a lot of air so unless its almost in your face it really doesnt cool that much. Even on full speed it puts out very little air. Next, the water tray is small and needs to be refilled a lot in additon is barely opens (see photo) making it hard to put ice in it. The need to be small cubes or crushed ice or it simply wont go in. Third it doesnt get very cold even the air it does put out isnt really that cold. Make no mistake this is not a room cooler. It might give you a little cooling if it was right next to you and blowing right on you. However , i could get more cooling from a table top or floor fan. The cooling from the water puts out a fine mist of water causes a small amount of cooling if its directly on you. I giveit a big thumbs down. It doesnt provide much relief from heat and its very inconvenient having to continually fill the small water tray. It was cheap thats its only real good point but you get what you pay for. It also raises humidity in room of course and if you like high humidity thats fine. Personally i dont. Overall, I give it a three star only because they didnt really make any false claims, they just didnt elaborate on how bad it was. Sorry, I would never buy it again.

A honest & fair review
When I purchased this I was concerned if the reviews are fake or paid since there's a lot of high scores in a short amount of time (2 months). But I got it anyway since the price isn't very high. Well here's what I think of this little cooler fan.The Good: The air that comes out is definitely cooler than a regular fan's when you put water/ice in it. I use this device alongside another fan since it's real hot (90+ degrees) here in Los Angeles. So on comfort, this thing helps. If you live somewhere with 90+ degrees, then this alone is not going to do that much. You will need to combine it with another fan or AC to really cool down the room/area. But overall, it helps bring down the temperature and that's the main thing. The Bad: The water/ice tank is too small. In the description they say if filled up it'll last for 3-4 hours. But for me it only lasts for 1-2 hours max. I have to refill water/ice every 1-2 hours. Maybe if your area isn't 90+ degrees then it'll last longer. But just know that if you live in a hot area, it'll only last for 1-2 hours. So you'll have to change it often. I wish the tank is much bigger so the water/ice will last longer. Conclusion: It does help. It works to lower the temperature toward the area it's blowing the cool air. But don't expect it to cool the entire room. Also don't believe those reviews that say you have to put your face next to it to feel the air. You can feel the air if you're like 2 feet away. So I'd recommend it for the price. Just don't have too high of an expectation.

A decent option if your AC is down.
Currently having a little heat wave in the Silicon Valley. Our AC is down in our house, so opted to try this water cooling fan to use in my bedroom. It does a decent job of getting through the heat in the house and is pretty straight forward to set; you fill the back container with crushed ice and cold water, then turn on the power and press the cooling button and some cool misty air blows at you. Things you should keep in mind is:1) This isn't something that cools your whole room, you have to have it literally right next to you to feel the cool air. I put it on my desk so that I can at least do some work and feel comfortable while doing it. But the second you step away from the cool air you'll feel the heat, so it's literally for a small space.2) The fan claims to last 4-6 hours before needing to refill. Mine lasted around 3 1/2 hours (but at least it has a light that comes on when you are running low so you'll know when it's time).Overall, a decent option if you need some relief when you're AC is down or if you need it for a space that doesn't get AC like a garage. Doesn't use a lot of electricity either, so at least you know it won't drain your electric bill.

okay
I bought this because my dog is going to be moving in with me at college soon and my room that I will be living in, in the fall is on the 3rd floor and the sun hits it all day so in these warmer months it gets very very hot in those rooms, they have no AC or fans or anything, and i wanted something to help keep it cool for him, but this will not do the trick. It works while im sitting at my desk working on homework or have it blowing directly on me, but it doesn't cool off my small dorm room at all. More of a "personal fan" that cools you off more than a normal fan but definitely not for entire rooms.

Great value for the money. Exactly as described.
I liked that it was portable, easy to fill, a great value for the money. A way to have personal air conditioning anywhere you go. It didn't seem too easy to clean with a toothbrush, though, and I wish it would operate on one filling for eight hours so I don't have to get up in the middle of the night to refill it. Overall, I am very pleased, and glad I got it!

efficient. It sounds to good to be trus it probably is not true
I think I expected to much from this product. It needs to be very close to you and if it is warm in the area the cooling procedure does not last very long. Made a (redneck cooler) for a fraction of the cost and twice as effecidnt.

Not all it's hyped up to be
This fan did work but based on the description and reviews I expected more. Its very small and does not hold much water. The fan is average at best but its very small.

it gets the job done
can't cool an entire room like some of the other reviews said, but if you sit in front of it in an unairconditioned room during 100-degree weather it'll feel more like 80, and you might just stop sweating.
