Hit Me Like A Man EP

This band proves once again that a female singer can do rock, metal to perfection. The lead singer Taylor Momsen has some major singing vocals on her lungs, she in my viewpoint can rank up there with pass female singers like Pat B, Joan Jett, S Nicks, Shriely Manson of Garbage and but of course bands like Halestorm with Lizzy Halestorm and In this Moment. What I am trying to say is this woman rocks the metal rock world and I enjoyed every single song on this CD single EP which for people out there who might buy this EP it has 5 songs on it and is roughly 20 minutes long. I am very impress with this singer and looking forward to recieve the next amazon package which contains their second CD entitled Going to Hell. I truly believe this band will be around for a long time to come.

I purchased this album through Amazon.com for under 4 bucks ($3.61) for 5 songs. And I have to say it was $4.00 well spent! There are two songs that are on the previous album "Light Me Up" but these versions are LIVE! I'm not usually one for live recordings, sometimes the crowd screaming gets in my way, but it was dimmed down in these recordings.There are three new songs, and they are fantastic! I've been a Pretty Reckless fan since I first heard Just Tonight, when I recieved the single as a free download on iTunes. These new songs do not disappoint. They are hard edges, guitar riffs and Taylor's voice at the forefront. This is Rock n' Roll!I have to take a moment to talk about Taylor Momsens voice. I'm a voice girl, I love or hate voices and in this case I love! I just don't understand how someone so young can put so much into their voice. If you didn't know who was singing, you would never guess that the person behind this soulful emotion filled voice was under 18 or maybe she is now just barely 18. Her voice sounds as though she has lived a 100 years and not all of them good. She just gets it right, and you feel what she feels as she is singing. When she hits certain parts of songs, I'll even get chills on occasion.There are so many young starlets singing now days it becomes hard to distinguish between all the teeny bopper voices and cookie cutter songs, this is not the case with actress turned musician Taylor. This is one of the rare cases where I feel like an actor turned musician actually works. I think the only other instance I can think of where the actor turned musician makes you forget that they even acted is Jared Leto of 30 Seconds to Mars. These two would probably tell you that music was in their blood before acting was even a thought.Rating: BUY IT!My new favorite Pretty Reckless Song: Under the Water

A solid follow up by Taylor Mumson and her crew. After attending a concert where she played some songs off of this album you could really tell that her band is a combo of heavy metal and rock. Very heavy female following. She sings with authority and has a band behind her putting emphasis on all her lyrics.

This is a short release, but if you like "Light Me Up" then it really is a must own. "Hit Me Like a Man" is more of the same and I mean that in the best possible way. There are a few different directions explored in the abbreviated set, but the core Taylor Momsen experience is pretty much the same. And therefore I'll repeat my only criticism of their full length release. This music needs some guitar solo action!

I guess it is just too much to expect to receive a CD in a jewel case that is not cracked or broken.

I really liked the EP! Great music from The Pretty Reckless with great vocals by Taylor! I have all the cd's so far and this just rounds out my collection nicely!

This may only be an EP,but it's got 5 tracks on it,so good value for an EP.Yes,2 of the tracks are on LIGHT ME UP,but these are live versions and the other 3 tracks are very impressive.The tracks are as follows...MAKE ME WANNA DIE (LIVE). Great live version of a brillant track.HIT ME LIKE A MAN. Top new track,great energy,very PRETTY RECKLESS.UNDER THE WATER. Softer track,but very impressive.SINCE YOU'RE GONE (LIVE). This is another great sounding live version of a top track.COLD BLOODED. Brilliant,softly sung duet style,and the lyrics and vocals sound great,the best thing on here for me,plus it would seem others would say the same. This track just has to be heard by PRETTY RECKLESS fans,or anyone for that matter,love it.So this would most certainly not disappoint most fans,short but very very sweet. New album please.

I'm not a big fan of live albums as they can be disappointing. I bought this EP because I wanted the three new studio tracks and there doesn't seem to be an album on the horizon.I'm pleased to report; if like me you haven't had the chance to see them live, that The Pretty Reckless sound damned good live and although she may be a tv poppet Taylor Momsen can really hold a song live. Don't be put off as I almost was, this is well worth a listen.

Gd cd great band thanx

Being a fan of The Pretty Reckless I had listened to their debut album, Light Me Up, dozens of times and wanted more. Due to licencing reasons Kill Me was not released in the UK until a few days after the US release, as such when looking for it I can across this gem. Containing three tracks and two live performances of tracks from the first album, I'd recommend this to any Pretty Reckless fan.

Had to buy the CD as it wasn't available on Itunes.

Yes there are only a couple of new songs on here, but the live versions of the other tracks are brilliant. The track Hit Me Like A Man is awesome. Not expensive so great value.

An amazing EP from a brilliant band featuring three new amazing songs that you all need to listen to!

Bought for my sister, who absolutely loved it! Was an amazing price, great quality and although it did take a bit longer to arrive than I expected it was well worth the wait.

This little EP is better than their Going to Hell album!!!..buy this instead and save yourself a bundle of cash!!

most of the songs are fine - the CD box was a bit battered - the live tracks are ok if you like that

I love the Pretty Reckless and so far they're yet to release something bad. Really cant wait for their new album!
