Pretty good game
I personally think this is a great game. As far as the way it's played and the overall appeal. It is a perfect balance between performance and quality. You might get some games that are fast, but low quality and you might get other games that have beautiful graphics and art, but they're very slow. This game is a happy medium. The graphics are pretty good and the performance is great also. I also just like the style of game play and how easy it is to control the important aspects in the game while not being too confusing. And yes, it is addicting. Now the bad stuff. If you use Windows 7, which is becoming increasingly popular, you might find that when anything happens on your desktop the colors get inverted (or to use a non-technical term: messed up). Even if your background slideshow changes to another picture it goes "kiddy- wompus". Also, the computer players don't build in the most economical way. For example instead of building a track across a flat plane on the ground they'll build a bridge over the flat plain because there's a small hill on either side. I guess you could say they air on the side of train efficiency and not low cost.In conclusion, good game, trouble w/ Windows 7, but not life-threatening, and fun to play.

Never got to play it
I never actually got to play this game. When I tried to play it went into a never ending loop asking me to install the game after it told me it was installed. I returned the game and got a refund, though I was never able to determine if the problem was with the game or my computer, though, from what I could see from the advertised samples, the graphics were acceptable though not even close to scale, and kind of choppy (it is just a game after all). I would have liked to play this game to check out the game play compared to some other games I play like Railroad Tycoon 3 and Cid Meyers Railroads, which are both top level games in my opinion. I am not a hard core gamer and can only play once and a while when I have nothing to do between caring for my disabled wife and trying to bring in enough income to keep us going.

Best Game EVER
This is like the first game I ever bought for my windows 98 computer. No I didn't buy it from Amazon. I actually bought it from the dollar store. This game is simply addictive. This game keeps you on your toes and it help you build strategic skill's. Saying that I did have a few problems with he game. But really I don't know if it's from the game or the computer. But as I said this game is by far one of the best games I've ever played. Even thought this is not going to be rated as a owned product I do actually have it. And then again I lost it. I will buy this game in the near future again because I love it so much. The only thing that could be improved is the graphics but it is a really fun game.

No Steps Forward
I am a longtime fan of Transport Tycoon Deluxe, and I must say I am disappointed in this supposed sequel. It offers absolutely nothing that TTD doesn't have and in at least one way (i.e., the way of building tracks and roads) is a very frustrating step back. If you have TTD, don't even consider this. Instead look at openTTD, a free game (you must have the TTD for windows disk to install). If you don't have TTD and can't get it, I guess you won't know what you are missing, so I suppose you can get Locomotion. But if you fall into this category, and you find yourself playing locomotion and saying, "Why didn't the programmer do it this way?" know that the answer is he did do it that way, 10 years ago. This is a downgrade from TTD and I will never play this game as long as I have openTTD. A clear lack of effort on the part of Chris Sawyer.

Windows 8 is a no-no
I love this game and everything about it. No problem with it at all, except that it's not very compatible with Windows 8. When I first got it, I had no issues but after a month or so, it starts crashing every once in a while. Super unfortunate but luckily I have another computer with Windows 7 and it works like a dream!

Good When It Works
I became addicted to Locomotion, with a few reservations. But it suddenly stopped working (Problem with Loco.exe, contact Microsoft). Bought a second, after installation had problems then stopped working. Tech support has no idea about the cause. I wonder how many buyers have this problem (which showed up after MS-XP upgrade was installed)? It seems to be a rental program, works for a while then needs a new copy. Save your money.

Cool for train buffs
Ordered this for my teen son. He loves trains. We actually got it when he was age 8 but lost the cd, so we repurchased it. He is much better able to use the game without help now than when he was younger. He says it is a "great game".

Fun, Simple yet complex game
This game is pretty simple, but not boring. The more trains you make the more complex it becomes! I love how I can play this game when I want a fairly simple game: I make trains to haul one or two resources, and if I want to add some complexity I just start collecting other types of resources! This game can keep anyone who likes resource gathering and trains busy for a long time.

Still a classic - awesome price.
I already own this game but it has seen so much use that the disc itself is showing alot of mileage with numerous scratches. Despite it still working without any problems, I decided to get another copy - just in case.I have been playing this addictive strategy game for well over 10 years now. You start with a little money in the bank, stake out a piece of land and start building a small transport line to generate some revenue and work to expand. Watch out though, at some point you will need to borrow some money to realize bigger projects and that money has to be paid back with interest. All this while your competitors are staking their claims. The competition gets stiff and the terrain isn't always cooperative. Altering land forms is possible but expensive. To start, try to stay on flat land and build very straight forward lines. There is plenty of time to get complicated later and you'll have to, trust me.Great price and devastatingly addictive.
