great concoction maker
I ordered this as a christmas gift to myself ,from my husband. He could not understand why a regular blender was not good enough to make my frozen party drinks. On New Year's eve I brought this party blender out and mixed up all kinds of frozen drinks. Guess who was first in line to try this out? Yeah, my husband, he had to push his way right in front of me to try this fun party blender. It was a huge hit at our house, we placed it on the center island in our kitchen and everyone stood around to watch it create these wonderful frozen adult treats! We made mudslides, margarittas, daiquris, and frozen rum runners. It was a blast, and this thing makes them to perfection. I always wanted a blender that does the job of the machines behind the counter of bartenders! This model is more expensive than some of the other models, but I see it as an investment of years of entertaiment for myself and friends. I cannot wait to summer time where I know for sure it will be a neigborhood sensation! Very easy to use, looks fantastic, well made, and also creates great fruit smoothies for the consumers under the age of 21.

Perfect sno-cone ice machine that also makes wonderful frozen adult beverages
You've read a million reviews of this thing by now so this one probably won't tell you anything you don't already suspect about the DM2000, but here goes...First of all, the shaved ice is absolutely perfect. Imagine one of those early spring days when you wake up in Telluride and it's been snowing all night. You get up to the top of the mountain and the snow is an absolutely perfect powdery consistency, but you could easily pack it into a snowball if you wanted to. That's what this machine makes. The word perfect doesn't even quite do it justice. We need a new word like "spectoobular" or something. The ice is shaved spectoobularly. This means that not only does it make excellent frozen adult beverages, but it also makes wonderful sno-cones. In fact I ordered this thing last summer and got it right before my daughter's birthday party. We fired up the DM2000 and used it to make a big bowl of spectoobular shaved ice. Scooped the ice onto paper sno-cone thingees, and dumped some sno-cone flavoring on them and they were a huge hit. I'm telling you, the DM2000 sno-cone abilities are polling very high in the "Under-6 Living In My House" demographic as well as all her friends.Second, the machine itself is just fun to use at parties. Our sad social existence suddenly turned into a very full dance card when we bought this thing. All the invitations we receive say some variation of "Please come to our awesome backyard Hawaiian luau. And make sure you bring the DM2000 or you're not invited." But hey, we're at the party so that's all that matters.A few minor gripes that you've no-doubt read many times already: This thing is no picnic to clean once the party is over. It isn't difficult by any means, but it takes awhile. You should let the brain freeze and/or tequila headache subside first. There's a lot of disassembly that has to happen and lots of things to clean. Not a big deal, but I wanted to mention it so you don't come back here and yell at me for not warning you. I'm really sensitive that way.Secondly, the DM2000 is huge. I mean in relation to average kitchen cabinets. We use it on the island in the kitchen or out on the outdoor kitchen on the back patio, but we simply don't have a decent place to store it when we're done. It won't fit in any of our cabinets and it would take up a lot of space to leave it sitting out on the counter all the time. I highly recommend buying the Margaritaville AD1200 Universal Travel Bag Fits DM0500, NBMGDM0900, DM1000 & DM2000 Series to go with it. The bag fits it perfectly, looks great, and is super convenient for moving it around or for storing it somewhere other than the kitchen if you don't have enough space. And the other thing I have to comment on is even less of a big deal -- the recipes in the included book make pretty weak margaritas. But put that squarely in the "great problem to have" category as far as I'm concerned! What? We need to keep making more margaritas to dial in our recipe? Okay by me!! The recipes from the book certainly taste okay, they just don't have enough "octane" if you know what I mean. A little spoiler for you: If you're making the 3-drink version of the Perfect Margarita recipe from the book, add 2+ extra ounces of tequila and an extra ounce of triple sec, and you're just about right on the money perfect.OH OH OH!!! Also don't forget that this thing will eat through ice like a great white shark eating through a floating whale carcass. It will quickly go through all the ice in your house no matter how big the fancy ice dispenser in your awesome refrigerator is. It will go through all the ice in your neighbor's refrigerators. It will deplete all the ice from a medium-sized glacier...okay maybe not. Just do yourself a favor and go grab a few bags of ice before you crank up the machine. Trust me on this.

GREAT Customer Service
I purchased this product into thousand 12, as I write this review it is October 2014. That is important for several reasons. When my son had his wisdom teeth out all he wanted was a virgin strawberry daiquiris and chocolate milkshakes. I purchased this to make those, with the added benefit of being able to make delicious summer drinks. My frozen concoction maker went pretty much unused for long periods of time after my son's wisdom teeth were removed. I did not make very many frozen drinks, but lately began using it to mix my protein shakes. I began smelling a burning odor, and knowing that it was a two year old unit, I emailed the company for suggestions on what to do.Within two days, the company emailed me, sent me a shipping label to return my unit, and mailed me a brand new unit. I can't say enough good about the customer service. As for the frozen concoction maker, it does exactly as advertised, makes great frozen drinks, smoothies, I am mudslides, and now even the protein shakes. I highly recommend the product, because you are not only buying a good product, but you are dealing with a company with outstanding customer service.

Margaritaville DM2000 is Awesome!!
I purchased the Margaritaville DM2000 for a friend because I have the same one and I truly think that it is the best machine for the price. I paid about $100.00 more at another store. Amazon had it priced more affordable. The reason I purchased the DM2000 because it has metal instead of plastic piece that turns the blade on the bottom of the unit & inside the ice unit. Also you can mix different types of drinks (ritas, daiquiri, smoothies) and you can select the number of drinks you want to prepare. It is definetly worth the extra money for the extra functions. I LOVE MY MARGARITAVILLE FROZEN CONCOCTION MAKER!!!!!

not even close to restaurant quality
For years I've been eager to achieve a magnificent at-home margarita. The hallmark of my perfect margarita is the uniform smooth & frozen consistency. After reading the overwhelmingly favorable reviews on the Fiji unit, I was intrigued. However, after several tries with this machine, it became patently clear that nothing of the sort is possible with this product. The ice is chunky and the margarita quickly separates after blending -- liquid on the bottom, chunky ice on the top. Don't believe anyone who claims this produces 'restaurant quality' or 'better than restaurant quality' margaritas. It simply isn't true. The end-result is barely better than what you can achieve with an up-market blender.
