can my HTPC connect to this unit and then from this unit to my 6 floor standing Polk speakers RTi150 (2) and RTi38 (4). Do I need a power amplifier?

The PMP 2000 includes a power amplifier. If the impedance of the speakers matches the impedance of the PMP 2000 output you should not have a problem. You can get the PMP 2000 specs online to check whether your HTPC output to the unit and the output to your speakers match. The unit should have enough power to work for you, with power to spare.

I have a pair of Peavey PR 10 speaker,they have "2-way sound reinforcement enclosure 400W handling/800W peak",can I use this Behringer with those?

I use this exact mixer for my dj needs. It's absolutely fantastic. I use it to power my peavey 10's, 12's and 15's... even bridged! Haven't blown a speaker yet and it's been just over a year, every Friday and Saturday night.

can i connect an ipod or any device to this for playback?

you can connect an ipod, or anything else you want to it, just need the correct cable. I have used this with an ipod many times and it works great.
