Awesome swim socks
I snorkel several times a week, and needed a pair of good booties to protect my feet in rocky areas. I have another pair from a different company, but they leak sand, and fit very loose. I saw these and liked the strap option, as well as the higher cut. I had a chance to use them last week, and they work fabulously! The fit was little big in the toe for me, but you can pull them up tight, then fasten the strap, and they stay nice and snug. I really liked the thinness of them, it was easy to feel my way through the rock as I was entering the water. My old booties would get loose as I was snorkeling with my fins, and usually the heel would stick out the back, and cause my swim fin strap to slide off! These booties stayed snug, comfortable, and felt wonderful during my last 2HR snorkel trip. Best of all, the strap feature kept ALL the sand out. I love not having to wash out my booties in middle of the ocean, because of sand! Also after snorkeling, when I took them off, my feet were clean, and free of cut. I'm super happy with these booties, and would definitely recommend them to anybody. It's worth it to not worry about getting infected coral cuts on your feet!Update-I just received my new set of booties, and tried them out. (Someone stole my last pair.) They fit even better than the first ones, the redesigned longer Velcro helps the fit, and they are even more comfy. This company is great to work with, and they will proactively help you with any problems of feedback you might have. It is so nice to see that there are a few places that do actually stand behind their products, and care about their customers!

Consider These Disposable
Pros first: these things are comfortable and they fit great. They don’t add too much bulk to fit my feet comfortably in my fins. They provide great chafing protection for my ankle from the fin strap. The Con: After only two days of use they have holes in them from wear. I am using these in a pool environment with swim fins for several hours at a time. I have walked across the outside area of the pool maybe a total of 50-100 yards in those two days. My recommendation is that you have to be disciplined about never walking any distance in these things unless you want them to wear out quickly. If I buy another pair, I may try to dip the heels in something like Flex Seal to see if that improves the longevity.

cheaply made and will not last
I bought these to use as fin socks and nothing more. The only walking I really did in them was across sand at the beach or from my car to my garage.. That limited use didn't stop these things from quickly loosing the bottom sole. With in 2 months I had quarter dollar sized holes in both heels and balls of feet. The ankle securing system was good however. I really really liked the feel of the booties and appreciated the securing mechanism. I just wish the soles would have held up better.

Get them small if you care about speed
These are exactly what I wanted, except that I should have gotten a smaller size. They protect my feet against razor clams and other beach detritus that can cut and scrape, they go on and off easily, and the soles are reinforced. However, I got them for open-water swim races, and they really slow me down because they fill with water. If you care about speed, get them undersized so they have to be stretched on like a wetsuit.

Snug ankle
I ordered the XS since I do wear a 6.5-7 womens, the opening at the ankle was a tight fit and i wasn't sure my foot would fit through, but once on they were comfortable and I didn't need to use the strap (which was too tight for my ankle anyway). I used them on the beach and at a water park. They bloated and held water for a bit but I thought that was really cool. In Texas the pavement and sand gets super hot and I wasn't wearing sandals with these. They were perfect at the beach and I did not get a single grain of sand inside them, but the pavement at the water park started wearing away the fabric around the balls of my feet, but that is not the products fault. I still think these are an awesome product since I can't wear water shoes with the insoles because they become incredibly painful to walk in. No problem with these. I would order again.

Fits like a Glove
Purchased these boots for snorkeling / fin comfort, and they preformed perfect on our two week trip to Hawaii. The boots are very snug around the ankle and I see little need for the velcro strap around the top of the boot, unless you wish to totally cut off the blood supply to your feet. These made wearing fins a delight and also keep your feet a little warm. I would highly recommended these to someone going on a snorkel trip who doesn't want blisters on their heels from fins. Since I only used them for two weeks I can not comment on the durability of the boots but mine still look new. Make sure you view the sizing chart before purchasing.

Great for keeping sand away from my feet!
I like doing long hikes along the Olympic Coast of Washington. We have lots, and lots, of sand. It gets everywhere. Over time it can wear my feet raw in my shoes when hiking for 4-10 miles. These water socks provide a great seal around the ankles for keeping the sand away. They are also thin enough that I can wear my normal boot or water shoe size with these, just like standard socks. They add a tiny bit of warmth as well.Only difficult thing is keeping them from stinking like rank armpits after using them. I find it best to wash them out with salt water and then dry them inside-out in the sun and air. Then flip them right-side out for more drying and then storage. This is true with every neoprene garment ever made, so nothing to knock stars down for.

These are amazing!!
We always swim off of lava beaches in Hawaii and inevitably cut up our feet. Not this time!! These booties are perfect. They grip the rock, they don't balloon out in water, and they keep your tootsies warm. They also make putting on fins a snap (although we usually swam without fins). Looking forward to using these in winter on our sculling boats.Durability: we never walked long distances in them, they're not meant for that. But walking across hot sand and rock? Size: Fit as described for woman's 9 and husband's 13.
