Works Very Well, Did Some DIY
I bought the AC last week after being hit with 90F weather in Southern California and because my 2nd floor bedroom facing the sun during the day makes sleeping at night unbearable. I also rent so landlord doesn't allow us to install anything to the window/wall. AC arrived on time and assembling it was very easy. There are cheaper ones at Home Depot, but Consumer Report rated this one as #1 and I wanted it to be delivered because it's so heavy (I'm single & live alone). The only part that needed extra work was the window kit because it was too small for my window even after the extension. So, I went to Home Depot and bought a piece of wood that they cut to my measurements, which in my case was 12" in length. I also bought weather stripping to ensure there would be no gaps in installation. I painted the wood piece white and then assembly was a piece of cake after that. The only eye sore is the exhaust tunnel/pipe which the cat tree hides nicely. See the pictures for more detail. I slept really well last night and I even felt cold and had to lower the temperature :) I'm very happy with this product!I should add that I did hear the sudden ping of the machine during the night as it pushed more air, but this sound isn't any different from what you hear in regular AC's. In addition, the noise level doesn't bother me, this is how AC's run. If you've ever been to Vegas, or other hotel rooms in hot climates, you know what AC's are like and I find the noise level pretty comparable and tolerable. Some reviews have really complained about that, but don't let that deter you from buying it because t's not a malfunction of the machine.***UPDATE 9/16/19****I've gotten a lot of great comments about this AC, thanks for them and I have read them all! Just wanted to say that it's still working really well for me and I sometimes have to turn up the temperature because I get cold at night! I've never had to drain any water as some have asked. The only thing I've done is vacuum the filter foam at the back of the AC from accumulated dust and cat hair (this is normal). In the winter, I was able to roll away the AC and store it nicely. I threw out the old weather stripping foam and just bought a new package for the summer because it would adhere better to my window and setting it up again wasn't too much of a hassle. I also found a white colored weather stripper from Home Depot which was more aesthetically pleasing since it matched with the color of the white wood and AC hose. My routine is to turn on the AC about 30 min before I plan to sleep just because my window faces the hot sun most of the day and it takes a little while to cool the room down. I did want to mention that the weather stripping and customized wood extension aren't 100% noise proof; you can still hear police cars zoom by/ambulances/trains/beeping cars (it's great living on a busy street, isn't it!?), however the sound of the AC running creates white noise and blocks out the exterior noise really well so it hasn't bothered me at all. As I've said before, the white noise actually helps me sleep and doesn't bother me. The pings still happen but just like your grandfather's old clock...your brain does an amazing thing and blocks it out. Hope this helps!

Love it!! Absolutely fantastic machine
This air conditioner is awesome. I researched for a few days trying to find a portable air conditioner that is quiet, cool of course, and not too hard to handle. Well it's cooling power is incredible, it took my room from 83 to 74 in about half hour. It's noise level is so incredibly low I couldn't believe it. It's running right next to my TV, and I bumped the TV to volume level 16 from my normal 14. It's not going to make you go deaf listening to it. It was very simple to set up, taking it out of the box was probably the most challenging part of dealing with it. The 5 inch hose supplied with it snaps right on to an adapter on each end, then attached to the window adapter and the unit itself. Really easy. The remote is very handy, but be sure to point it directly at the unit. I haven't noticed any warmth from the machine itself while it's running, but touching the hose I can feel the heat. Honestly overall, I couldn't be more happy with this purchase. I put it on my living room where I really didn't want to put a window unit, and so far this machine has done the job probably better than the window unit I was going to purchase. I'm not paid for this review, just trying to help others if they are unsure about purchasing.

Really good so far, quiet and good looking unit.
I've only had this unit a few days but so far I'm impressed. I've had so issue with noise. I can barely tell when the compressor turns on. The fan is fairly quite, especially for the amount of air it puts out. I'm in a townhouse and I got this to help the central air which is struggling to cool the whole apartment because the equipment is old and the management is too cheap to replace it. My central air has run pretty much non-stop for two months. So this Portable AC will help take some of the load off. It was 90 degrees yesterday and ridiculously humid here in NC. This unit was immediately effective at cooling the living room and kept it comfortable all day. The central air os able to handle the upstairs and it only kicks on every now and then. Installation was fairly easy however, be prepared to seal some gaps. I have my unit venting out of a window with the exterior screen down to help with dirt and bugs. I've noticed that the area where the exhaust hose snaps into the window mounting kit there is a lot of warm air blow back. I sealed that with some sealant I bought a while back to reseal my exterior dryer vent. The window mount itself has one piece that is larger than the other, which is common for an adjustable piece like this. Obviously the smaller side leaves a gap. I'll either seal this with some outdoor tape or some weather stripping. I feel like Honeywell could include this but it's not a huge deal. You'll also want something to seal the gaps between the two windows if you have double hung windows. It didn't seem to affect the cooling in any noticeable way and I could only tell by really trying to feel around the mounting unit for leaks. All in all, at least initially, I'm very impressed and pleased. I had read other reviews saying it was really loud but I'd say it's quiter than most window units I've ever heard, especially for it's size.Update-First... Wanted to update my room size for this unit. My living room is 16x20 with 8ft ceilings. One week in. This thing has been run pretty much non stop since I got it. We've had all the kids (7 of them) for the last 4 days. The compressor runs a bit more with everyone here and us constantly washing/drying clothes and running the dish washer. All of these are in the kitchen which is attached to the living room where the unit is located. If I set it below 75 it runs fairly continuously. If I set it at 75 or 76 it seems to run some and then shut off. If that gets a little too humid or warm I turn it back down for a bit and the room cools fairly quickly. At night we turn it down to 70 or 71 and it cools the living room easily.I just emptied the condensation and from both ports I got a total of 1/4 cup, almost exactly. That's running in NC in very high humitidy. Still very impressed with the unit.I do think they could do a little more to make the window mounting hardware a bit more airtight or include sone weather stripping.
