Bad design with too many compromises
I bought this to build a second NAS, but a smaller one. But I'm now regretting this as I build it and I'm thinking of giving up. The case just smacks of a poor design that was rushed, there's no cable management, so the internals are messy. If your graphics card is a little big or you're trying to run a Dell Perc 310 (after all, how are you going to drive 12 drives without a PCI express card?) then you have to forgoe a drive bay making it 7 not 8 bays. This could have easily been avoided by increasing the depth by about 10cm and that would hardly have made it too large. Without the cable management the audio and USB3 leads are difficult to tuck away, I just removed them since there's ports on the back. The other problem is the PSU needs to be small and that means low power output, with potentially 12 drives you need a hefty PSU and this case won't allow that. I have a SFX-L which can be made to fit but it is tight.

Excellent case for a small but powerful build
Easy build overall.Double check that the fans are the right way round, I think all fans should suck air in, and then hot air is vented top and bottom. The case comes with two fans, I added an extra fan above the GPU for a total of 3 fans. The manual recommends two fans above a graphics card. The PSU bracket is sized for an ATX. I would recommend an SFX-L power supply, it won't be a tight fit in the chassis however the extra space is used for cable management.I used a noctua NH-L9x65 65 mm fan which is the bigger version for extra cooling.Half of the case is dedicated to the graphics card, allowing for full sized 33cm graphics cards. There are four 2.5" bays meaning loads of storage for multiple SSD.The LED lights on the exterior of the case are nick and, not tacky.I installed an AMD Ryzen 7 3700 X.I installed an Asus ROG Strix b450-i gaming ITX motherboard.

Overpriced and need to be careful with clearances
I bought the SST-CS381 looking for something small with hot-swap bays for a server build. At the time, the only place I've been able to see it used is a GamersNexus NAS build on youtube, but they has clearance issues and didn't go into how they solved it.PSU clearance for a a SFX power supply is fine, there's plenty of room over that side of the case, in fact, the Corsair SF450 I put in there comes in a little small.I built this with a 3900X and first off, there is zero chance of getting the stock AMD cooler in this case. I opted to replace it with the Noctua NH-L9A which fits just fine, just about leaves room to use all 4 RAM slots (but it's tight) and has just enough room about it to get some air to the fan.It doesn't run particularly cool, and I suspect it'll have issues under load. Perhaps there is a better cooler, or watercooling (which has its own space issues) but Noctua claim this CPU will run at less than base clock under sustained load using this cooler.Fitting a radiator is apparently possible, at the rear, but the bar across the middle of the case for supporting the hot-swap bays interferes with mounting. Beware of using a radiator that protrudes much past the mounting holes or it simply won't fit.The case comes with two 1300RPM 120mm fans in the rear, they're not PWM and are not quiet (28dBm rated), I'm replacing them with a pair of Noctua fans which are PWM and quieter even at max speed. The left of the case has space for two more fans (and has nice magnetic dust covers (as does the PSU fan vent at the bottom). The hot swap bays have a Mini SAS HD connector on each bay of 4, as well as a 6 pin power connector and a 3 pin fan connector (presumably for the rear case fans, but I prefer for my motherboard to PWM control them, hence replacing them). You'll need an LSI HBA or similar to connect the bays to your system.Overall, I'd say given the issues with clearances, and the inability to run a high end, high core-count CPU under sustained load due to cooler space, the need to replace the fans with better PWM ones, and the need to buy an HBA for those bays, the case is at least £100 overpriced if not more. Without the hot-swap bays, this is a sub £100 case in my opinion.

Quality Control Abysmal
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Where to start with this... When I spend £304 on a case, I expect it to work perfectly, not like some piece of half-assed thrown together junk.At least four of the HDD caddy's don't click properly when placing them inside the chassis. The power and reset front panel motherboard connectors are too short to reach the pins on my mobo, while the power and HDD led connectors are long enough to reach, wth? I have a mini itx mobo, something the case is supposed to support. Also, I am missing HDD screws for two of the drive caddies. Really not good enough for the price spent. One of the backplane fan controllers is faulty. Where is the quality control? The creme de la creme, the cherry on top... The side panel has not had the two 120mm fan holes cut/drilled though, so I can't fit any fans to the side panel, what a joke. I wouldn't pay £5 for this rubbish, I suggest you do the same....Currently in contact with Silverstone CS to see if they can replace the parts, but let's be honest, I should not have to do this...Silverstone replaced the case, all is now as it should be. What a fiasco though. However, good CS from Silverstone I must day.
