Hardwire an Atomic Clock - Don't Use Batteries !
Lame - Lame - Lame. This is my 3rd clock from La Crosse with the exact same configuration. It is LAME because it is an "Atomic" clock which means every early morning or twice a day it checks with Colorado (or where ever that damn atomic clock is) to check for the most accurate time. That would be fine if this was a plug in clock. However because it runs on batteries (I finally figured this out on my third purchase) and cannot be plugged into a wall socket, the darn thing drains it's battery power in 10 days. This caught me on 3 purchases so I would really like to help others avoid the same mistake. If you want an atomic clock that you never have to worry about setting the time then make sure it is a hardwired clock. If you rely on batteries for this type of high usage then it is an unpleasant experience and SUCKS voltage/wattage !

Not worth the trouble.
I really want to like this clock, but it is more trouble than it is worth. Many, MANY times it has stopped displaying the outside temperature (yes, I have had it in many different locations including on the other side of the wall) and I have had to reset it...go outside and bring in sensor, take batteries out of both units, push buttons at least 20 times to clear, wait 15 minutes, reinstall fresh batteries (yes, name-brand batteries with an expiration date many years away) with sensor first and then main unit, wait 10 minutes making sure not to press any buttons, and so forth. This worked for the first 6 months and then the sensor died. No problems because it was under warranty so they replaced the sensor. Now, 6 months later and 2 weeks past warranty, the sensor is out again. Very, VERY frustrating. I give it 2 stars because it keeps time well and all else works. BUT, the purpose of buying this clock was to have the outside temperature, which is not reliable.

Moon phase feature is not just right.
The clock looks very nice on the wall, and we love the indoor and outdoor features. I also like how it keeps up with the time. I did not have to reset it when daylight savings time ended. However I am quite disappointed that the moon phase feature seems to have a glitch. I ordered this particular clock instead of a less expensive one specifically because of the moon phase feature. The glitch is strange to explain, so I have attached a picture for clarification. There are slivers of the moon that are darkened depending on the phase the current moon. On our clock, the sliver on the very right is always darkened.

Good clock - eats batteries - quit too soon
The clock is attractive and easy to read, keeping the perfect time one expects from a radio-controlled device. Setting it - with time zones, dates, and such - is a little wonky, but certainly manageable. Battery life is so-so and seeming to get shorter after a year and a half. Also, each time the batteries run out, I find them covered with a viscous clear fluid that sometimes drips out of the battery compartment. Not to my liking. Only a little corrosion, though. The outdoor thermometer didn’t seem to be giving accurate temps after a short time, and the squirrels kept knocking it out of its holder. I gave up on it - not worth the effort.Edit: I bought another of these after the first quit. But the second one quit too soon as well. It was also hard to get it to synch with the satellite - had to put it in a window, sometimes for 2 days. Got another brand that synchs in-place. Can't yet comment on the new one's longevity.

Good clock, but remote temperature transmitter was the weak-link on the unit I just replaced with this one...
Replaces the exact same thing that finally died after 12 years on the bedroom wall. The remote temperature transmitter didn't last more than 4 years. It wasn't in direct sunlight but it did have to survive temperature extremes from -20 degrees F. all the way up to triple digits. This is the weak link. The display winked out 2 months ago on the first one and wouldn't come back. So, I bought a replacement for this suburban Chicago area house. The first one was a Kohl's closeout after Christmas. This one cost me about the same $30 delivered. So, now I'm the proud owner of an updated LaCrosse clock with dual temperature...in the same cherry wood finish. At my AZ house I bought the comparable Timex unit (available on Amazon for $49). It has dual temperature (same outside and inside), remote transmitter for outside temperature, WWVB sync'ing, but adds a blue Indiglo backlighting for darkened room viewing. I shut this feature off from the menu setting because it made the bedroom too bright at night. This was also a Kohl's after Christmas closeout for about $35, this past January (2016). I'm curious to see how the Timex performs vs the LaCrosse.

Nice Cherry Finish
Replacing an 8-to-9 year old La Crosse model (similar size) that gave up the ghost unexpectedly last week. It was the only option on Amazon with the exact cherry finish to match several pieces of furniture in the living room. We have several La Crosse models throughout the house, so I am fairly competent with the setup and the instructions are easy to follow (or so I thought). The first night it did reset itself to a different time zone, but I went through the setup again and it has been fine for three days (I'm guessing operator error on that one). My wife thinks the temperature display numbers are smaller than the previous model, but she pays more attention to it than I do. Happy with the clock. Arrived super fast, which was good because we kept absentmindedly turning our gaze from the tv to the blank space on the wall. I didn't realize how often I checked the time...

Alerta sobre este reloj
No se ve la pantalla a menos que esté iluminado y desde ciertos ángulos.El censor de temperatura nunca funcionó.En menos de tres meses la hora se empezó a atrasar y tengo que configurarlo todos los días.

perfect and attractive
Exactly what I ordered. Setting it up took a bit of time but once I got the hang of it, it was easy.
