I love my RTT!
This is my first rooftop tent, so I don't have anything to use for comparison. I can say that it is well-built and it appears that it will last for many years. I weathered several storms without a drop of rain coming through. It's not the easiest to install and the instructions could be better, but if you take your time and have someone help you with the heavy lifting, it's not that hard. I would suggest removing the mattress prior to lifting it up to your vehicle or expedition trailer. All of the tent fabric and hardware is top notch. The zippers are heavy duty and still smooth. I also bought the annex, which I also highly recommend.

Easy to assemble once you learn how
Seems well made and everything fits. Easy to assemble once you learn how. The hinge side, which becomes the middle when extended, is the heaviest point. That is where my stock 1996 Toyota 4runner cross bars collapsed. I never knew how flimsy these luggage bars are. Were are manufacturing a more substantial system now. My 10 year-old son and I love it.

I replaced the pegs with a better quality version
I replaced the pegs with a better quality version. The pegs included have a round cross section which spin when pulled upon. This allows the line to be released which allowed the tend to flap in the wind. Next day found a better tent peg at a camping shop in Moab and no issues since.
