Impact 500: Surprisingly Great Value
Don't let the brand name deter you. You'll be hard pressed to find a plain, non-gamery TKL keyboard with genuine Cherry MX blue switches at this price point ($50 + prime shipping). Build quality is surprisingly good with a nice weight to it. Top cover plate has a smooth, rubber-like coating that won't catch grease easily - reverse side is shiny plastic and isn't finished with the same material. Back of the board also has 4 rubber feet, although the tips of the legs do not have rubber (didn't have any issues with it moving around thanks to the weight and the front two rubber feet). The included mini USB cable is braided, removable, and comes with a Turtle Beach branded velcro strap to keep things tidy. Underneath there are 3 channels to route the cable left, right, or centered. Legends on the ANSI keys will wear over time, but the relatively low cost of the keyboard means you can pick up a set of whatever you want.Mac users: this keyboard works fine with my Macbook Air, but the keys will NOT automatically switch to Mac layout. This means the Windows key becomes Command (as opposed to Alt becoming Command) and F keys will not default to the Mac media shortcuts. You will have to use 3rd party software if you want your layout to be identical to Mac keyboards.Overall, solid keyboard that seems to have flown under the mechanical keyboard radar.

Better switches than Bargain Chinese but not perfect
For Cherry MX it's unbeatable price. Feels a bit too soft & muted after using budget Tomoko Blue switches & I am mistyping a little bit more; however, Tomoko broke a space bar after a bit less than a year. So, I switched to this for longevity (Tomoko is sending me a free replacement & I can always fix the broken key switch by replacing it, as I am told to keep the old one). Also, I expect to get used to this light feeling soon.Definite likes are the lights are much more visible than Tomoko. Cap's lock is visible w/ quick glance & num lock is impossible to miss, which is great.Another like is the way USB connects to the keyboard, the wire can be routed straight, left, or right side, which is not available on Tomoko.Worse than Tomoko are key's. Backspace & return have no wording to it. Also Window key has no logo, just word "WIN" = extremely ugly. Spacebar has even uglier "IMPACT 500" written in HUGE letters.Only a bit more expensive than Tomoko & these switches will likely last forever. So, still like it but can't give a perfect score. Also, note the that keys are recessed in the frame & space bar has supporting wires on this keyboard. Where Tomoko is raised on the flat surface and keys have just 2 supporting switches on the edges.Comparing it to: TOMOKO Water-Resistant Mechanical Keyboard with Blue Switch, 87 Non-Conflicting Keys, Ideal for Typing & Gaming, Attached Key Cap Puller.

Best deal on Cherry MX keyboards, bar none.
Bought this to replace an old Redragon K553 that I had simply grown tired of (it was a bit too gamer-y for my taste), and had I known this was the same price as what I originally paid for said previous keyboard, I'd have just gone with this to begin with. Genuine Cherry MX Blue switches, very solid construction (it appears to be from the same OEM that built the old CM Storm QuickFire Rapid), and no funky software or drivers required. Only drawback seems to be the cheap stock keycaps, but that's not enough to knock off a star from the rating since, at only $50 at the time of purchase, you can afford better keycaps to go along with this board and still come in at under $100. There's no way Turtle Beach is making money selling these at that price!

Nice keyboard for the $50 price
Nice keyboard for the $50 price. That price is unbeatable for genuine Cherry MX key switches. This is now my go to keyboard and it wiil be even better when I get the decent keycaps for it. I like front labeled keys and this keyboard has the standard top labels. But for $50 you can afford to buy a new key cap set. Without the extra tenkey pad, this keyboard is more portable and I can actually fit it in my laptop bag when I travel to the coffee shop, plus without the number pad, I have room for my drink. Most mechanical keyboards emphasize blinking LED lights or are made for gamers. Others are loaded up with extra features I don't want or need like USB hubs or require plugging in two USB cords. This one has one cord and it is made for typing, not replacing a USB hub or making a light show. This one is made for touch typists that wish to hear a sound when they strike a key. There are only two bad things about it. The cord keeps falling out of the channel beneath the keyboard and the logo is way too prominent. I want to try scraping it off, but I am afraid it will ruin the finish. There are lots of spare keycaps available online to mod this board with, so it shouldn't be a problem.

Tiny Font
This would be a great keyboard if only the font for the shifted characters on the number keys (!@#$%^&*()_+) were readable. The font for the numbers is big enough, but the the font for the shifted characters is about 4 point in size. Otherwise the keyboard has the right heft and nice action - I just wish I could see some of the characters without a magnifying glass.

Good performance and feel. But the rubber feet slide around like crazy.
Nice keyboard but the rubber feet aren't that great. The keyboard slides all over my desk like crazy. I had to buy some 3m rubber pads to fix this issue. But other than that this keyboard works great. I also had $120 10KL keyboard, and it performed about the same as this one did.Fairly cheap keyboard. If you want an entry level keyboard like this I would give it a shot, or if you just like trying lots of different types of keyboard and mice like me I would also add this to your list of keyboards to try.

the keyboard has been super responsive. With that in mind
The red accent was an unexpected surprise as it matches the rest of my setup. So far, the keyboard has been super responsive. With that in mind, I don't know how it compares to actual mechanical keyboards as I've never owned one.It may take a bit of training to use for those folk that are used to big backspace bars. (this one is the same size as other keys).Luckily, I've been able to hit it 99% of the time without thinking about it.

Heavy and a bit spongy
The keyboard weighs like a brick and sits quite high, meaning a wrist rest I feel is necessary (but does not come with one).I found the membrane keys a tad squishy and long in keystroke depth, I prefer the stiffer snapback and shorter depth of my much cheaper Logitech. The key layout is great with a shorter spacebar allowing a larger Left Alt key, great for WSAD key setups in shooters etc.Very solid construction.Cable is not braided but standard plastic/PVC covering. A little on the thicker side.Tiny backspace key
