Don't read on an empty stomach!!!
You don't want to read this book on an empty stomach, which still might not be enough to help you resist the urge to order a burger. I have learned so many things about some of my favorite burger spots. I also learned new things about cultures and restaurants I had never heard of before. This was a delightful read because of how the author writes about some of the restaurants so many people know and love. I also appreciate the fact that the author included his own experiences. I can only imagine the fantastic places the author has visited as a food blogger. I am extremely happy he gave us a bit of a taste (pun intended) with this book.

A Good Intro To A Food You Already Know
In spite of the old saw about something being as American as Apple pie and hot dogs, there’s no food that’s as quintessentially American as the hamburger, and I guarantee that there’s much more to the burger than you know. The burger and the restaurants that became famous serving them have quite a history, and Sef Gonzalez, a food blogger also known as the Burger Beast, shares the story in this brief but fun book.Self’s book covers multiple burger-related topics, including who can lay claim to inventing the burger (there are four viable candidates), the history of the big names like McDonald’s, Burger King, Wendy’s and White Castle and smaller historic and regional chains. Sef walks us through the phases of burger history, including the post-World War II boom in fast food chains, the 1980s “Burger Wars” between the big 3 chains, and the recent years’ trend toward upscale burger chains like The Habit and Shake Shack. Sef also pays tribute to the Frita, the burger’s cousin from Miami’s Cuban community , regional varieties of burgers, and well-known burger festivals. The book is a fun and quick read, and everyone from the occasional burger muncher to the devoted foodie should find something in this book they didn’t know. All that’s missing is this smell of burger Pattie’s cooking on the grill, Recommended!

Burger and Cherry Coke.
An interesting, informative and most importantly a FUN READ! All about the Burger offers the reader more information about hamburgers than one ever knew or wanted to know. But Gonzalez does it in such away as to awaken not only dormant taste buds, but memories of good times with family and friends. Saturday nights at the Colonnade Drive-in in Tampa sitting on the front fender with a hamburger and cherry coke watching all the cars roll by is where one might start. But by the end Gonzalez offers back room deals, crazy advertising campaigns, and foreign influences on our very own American burger. This is one you will want to share. Promise.

Informative
As expected. A concise book about the hamburger. It’s part of a Christmas gift for my son. He likes nonfiction and I try to find different subjects.

History, A Favorite food and the pursuit of the perfect Burger!
Soo, let it be known I enjoy indulging and gobbling up as many of my Favorite Food item, since I discovered them. Wether it's in America or Beyond it's borders, the BURGER is and will always be, the perfect food group meal. Ole Burger Beast, highlights a combination of historic flavorful begginings as well as it's impact on our society. The burger is," a BIG part of who we are" and in this book we are reminded, schooled and taught about it's evolution and it's true magic. I have had the privilege of attending a Burger Bash or 2 with the BEAST, I was not disappointed then and today after learning so much more through this literary wonderland, I see why Whimpy always wanted another one and why those of us who love the burger in all of it's stages and combinations, will enjoy this book and will continue our search for the Perfect Hamburger!

The Author Knows His History.
This Book is for ANY True Foodie. If you consider yourself a Foodie & don't buy this book...You'd be wrong. The Author takes great care in telling the story of burgers in Miami but also interjects stories of his own in relation to Burgers & his love/America's love of Burgers. The Story is one of great memories of places that are still around & some that are no longer with us. Any person who has ever had any connection to food weather it be your dad's burgers at a Sunday Cook out or some restaurant that you used to frequent, Those Memories last a lifetime. Buy this book and go back in time to when a simple item like the Hamburger really brought people together.

Burgers with a side of nostalgia
A fun, interesting read. Lots of cool facts and nostalgia. It covers everything from the burger’s beginnings to the Burger Wars of the 80’s to the many regional specialty burgers. This book has given me quite the burger bucket list.

Five enthusiastic stars from Druther's
I'd like to thank Sef Gonzalez (Burger Beast) for our copies of All About The Burger: A History of America's Favorite Sandwich, and for his efforts in detailing the history of not only our company, Druther's, formerly known as Burger Queen - but also the numerous other iconic chains and restaurants featured in the book. Thanks to Sef for keeping the memory alive, and for being the only author to reach out to Druther's regarding the history of our company, as well as respecting the unique story of Steve McCarty at Druther's Restaurant down in Campbellsville.Take care, Bee Buddies!-Brian EasleyVice President, Druther's
