Excellent PDA. Like the compact format.
I like its size, but I dislike the port on the right side, which you might accidently mistake for the charging port (USB-C). To prevent accidently plugging the charger into this peripheral port, I had to tape over it. The machine runs spritely and I have been able to add the apps I needed from the Google Play Store. I am using it for this year's Nanowrimo. Though I am a touch typist, I find it faster to hunt peck on the small keyboard.

Small (with good and bad that brings), Installing Linux is tricky and dangerous.
I bought an early copy of the wifi-only model. I carefully installed Linux, and I really liked it.Certainly the keyboard is not great, but consider the size and it is quite reasonable. Even in its cramped dimensions it allowed me to use it for real computer stuff. Again, not as nice as a "real" computer, but it has the gigantic advantage of being really small. If your fingers aren't too big and your vision good enough to see small details, and you want a pocket sized computer in your pocket, this is it! Plug in a tiny Verbatim USB-C travel mouse and it becomes even more like a real computer while still being really small. But unfortunately the hardware of my unit quickly developed a video problem and I needed a warranty replacement. When I installed Linux on the replacement, I messed up and bricked it. I don't know if it can be unbricked, Planet Computers has not been helpful. Their response to my e-mail was basically "Installing Linux is for smart people, go away."Sad.I have a new interest in reviving it (or buying a new one at a firesale price one day): Ham radio. I would like to use it for digital modes on HF. For portable SotA-type operations, my transceiver is tiny and easy to hike with, and this would be perfect with it. If only there were a ham who had a working unit, were willing to try it out, and say how great it is, they might have a new market there. Portable operations is a hot new thing in amateur radio.I have my Gemini right here, but alas it is merely an alluring brick at the moment.-kb

The keyboard is not great
They had one thing they needed to make right and they screwed it. Yup, I am talking about the keyboard. It's a pain to use: to small for touch-typing, too big for thumb-typing. But wait! In their stock version they put some hotkeys INTO THE KERNEL (according to their support), making it impossible to re-configure these hotkeys using android's keyboard layout files. The only way to get custom keyboard layout (i.g. FN+H/J/K/L as arrow keys) is to use it with Debian instead of Android (non-stock android images like LineageOS still use the same kernel), but then Gemini becomes VERY SLOW, as hardware support under Linux is... subpar to say the least. So, if you're planning to use the device in terminal/vim or for on-the-go linux-based software development, then this device is a pain to have (I've had it for longer than 6 months and plan to switch to FXtec's phone).
