Excellent book. (CD IS bundled with the book)
I bought the book recently, but wish I had done so long time ago. Well written and very helpful introductory level 3D graphics methods and many other goodies. Highly recommend.

Nice publication, but can't use it.
The book is fine, but the CD was damaged. The book isn't much good without the code it is focused on.

Obsolete Projects on CD-ROM
The Visual Basic projects included on the CD-ROM are for Visual Basic 6, which is no longer supported by Microsoft. Fortunately, Rod Stephens has provided up-to-date versions of these projects on his website: [...]

This book is obsolete.
The book appeared to be well written and was rich with some samples, but it is geared to VB 5 OR 6, NOT for VB 2010. I still have yet to locate a Graphics programming book suited to Visual Basic 2010.Note: it was also supposed to come with a CD with the sample code, but didn't.

Good book with lots of graphical theories
After glancing through the few chapters of the book, I must say this is a book for anyone who is new to graphics programming as it offers lots of code samples and theories as it says on the back.If you're looking for a book about printing than this is not it, it only offers one chapter of info on it and I don't think it's all that useful (I don't program printing so I don't know)An added bonus of course is the 3D graphics chapter with topics such as ray-tracing and such. :POh and this is NOT a DirectX book, it's mainly uses the Windows API and a lot of VB code, no C here.

Great book
For 10-12 years I've debated whether I should buy this book... Finally got it and it's definitely worth the purchase. Even though it's old (really old in IT-years), and the code examples are based on older versions of Visual Basic, it's still a great book to get a good understanding of computer graphics.

Brilliant.
This book, despite the VB6 window-dressing is absolutely brilliant. What Rod Stephens knows about graphics and modelling is way out there. I converted some lesser examples using C# and they worked, proving that Rod's examples are intellectually sound and viable. This is a difficult book to get hold of but if you do, keep it. When you want an answer to a graphics problems, Rod has dealt with it. All the examples compiled and worked 100%, assuming you have access to VB6. Beyond that limitation there is nothing wrong with Rod's book. In one word, brilliant.

Despite the age of the book, you can still learn a lot about computer graphics. But be aware its VB6 and not VB.net.
Nice book about computer graphics. Despite the fact that we live in 2014 and there is VB.Net as standard and not VB6 as used in this book, it is still very interesting reading. When it comes to the mathematical foundation of computer graphics (2D and 3D) there is still a lot you can learn from this book. Also some useful tips and tricks how to deal with 2D graphic are very helpful. The drawback is that you need to re-invent the code and re-write it in VB.Net. But this is the point where you are forced to go deep and try to understand the algorithms and that makes you to learn it well.
