New England EZ Mount Posts for Arbors with 4" Legs

I had no idea these anchors existed until I purchased an expensive plastic garden arbor from New England Arbors recently. I had assumed I would have to dig fairly deep holes in which to sink extensions of the main support posts in concrete in order to secure the arbor, until I read about these anchors. Once I had assembled the arbor and placed it where I wanted it, establishing where to place the anchors, I moved the arbor out of the way and sunk holes using a heavy steel digging pole with a sharp end. Since it is impossible to get the holes perfectly vertical, this problem is solved by the adjustability of the two doughnuts at the top end of each anchor. I takes a while to get them "just right", but once they are adjusted to vertical, the arbor posts slide right down onto them, and a long stainless steel screw in each one secures them nicely. Truly inventive and creative technology!

I am so glad we purchased these for our New England Trellis. They made it possible for two not handy people to install the arbor. The posts have a leveling adjustment that works perfectly. Our soil is hard packed clay and I would have had to hire someone with a post digger and cement would have been needed for stabilization. I highly recommend these for installing any 4x4 hollow post (arbor, trellis or mailbox). I only wish they offered a set of 2 in addition to the set of 4.
