For the price, it's a deal. For a 'life knife', it's not.
This knife's steel is inexpensive, it's sharp enough to hurt but not enough to shave with. After short period sharpening, it's useful for rare daily uses; opening boxes, cutting cords, splitting hoses. The best point of this knife is the ease of opening. With a very gentle flick of the thumb, the blade is out and locked. No fighting with it, just whoosh and there it is. The 'seatbelt cutter' is fairly sharp (cut fingers) but that's not saying all that much; when I tried it on a material similar to a seatbelt, I found it would take a LONG time to cut through a seatbelt with it. For me, the blade is the only way to cut seatbelts. The metal prong at the end of the blade would be useful for breaking glass with a strong enough arm behind it. For woman or a child, it won't be much use against glass. As an actual 'firefighter' knife, it's not going to be useful. It's too weak and cheaply made for use as a device to help save lives. As a use once in a blue moon knife, it's great; but I have several others I trust for daily work. Is it a bad knife? Nope. Is it a cheap knife? Yes.

Good knife, good gift, but looked used.
I bought this knife for my little sister who just got a job as a firefighter. I thought it would be a good congratulations gift. Overall, its not a bad knife. It has a nice ergonomic grip and the blade looks nice withe the words "Fire Fighter" printed on it. The one I received, however, looked used. The corners of the handle looked dinged and was missing some paint, the blade didnt have much spring to it, and the emblem on the handle was crooked. I was kind of bummed giving her knife that looked worn. Overall though, its decent gift for a new FF, and perhaps I just had bad luck on this one.

Love it
I don't know too much about knives, but I do know that a knife like this normally runs really high so for the price I got this for.. it is GREAT. A little smaller than what I thought, but it is perfect for the pocket or even to be kept in the car! It was a quick delivery as well. This is a pretty heavy knife the the size of it. I know it will last a while!! Very excited for Christmas morning when my fiance opens it up!

I bought this knife as a Christmas gift for the Firefighter in my life...My husband... He owns several but they are all big and bulky... this one is a little smaller and has a very sharp blade I was very impressed with the craftsmanship... Survival knives are typically very expensive this was very reasonably priced and and filled the bill for what I wanted a smaller knife with the same capabilities as the larger ones. Exceptional for the price.

and is easy to open with my bunkers and gloves on
This knife is decent, and as a fire fighter, I must say, it is very hard to come by a decent knife. The only down side is it is really small. To the point that I won't even bother carrying it, other than leaving it clipped on the visor of my POV. I'd rather carry a gerber as it has a bigger sturdier blade, and is easy to open with my bunkers and gloves on.

Firefighter survival knife
This product is just as described and is very good quality. The knife is also very sharp and remains sharp! It is a multi-purpose tool and very effective for firefighters or EMT's. We would definitely recommend this product to anyone searching for this type of knife! Excellent service from CKB as well! Thank you!

Has a lil flex to it
This knife looks great and is sharp right out of the box but its a lil flimsy and has a lil flex to it. Also it is very light and I would not trust it in a real emergency.
