Orcs & goblins & no why did it have to be spiders
Help, I can't stop playing Champions of Norrath. After completing the game and playing with the same character (much stronger & better equipped) on the Courageous setting, I have gone the extreme by creating 10 characters (5 characters to choose from but you can play as man or woman). The characters that are the most fun are the magic users. I love to face a horde of orcs and goblins and just keep firing magic at them and when only 1 or two are left, hit `em with my best shot. As you get further into the game, the AI of some of the evil creatures is amazing, especially the nesperaties (vampire-like creatures) who are tough to hit because they keep dodging your attacks. The game designers are the Champions of Norrath. Sounds, graphics and the artwork are beautiful. Wish you could make the characters we gamers create speak more. They only make a one sentence comment when they enter a dungeon/castle, ant hill, etc. Only two complaints, I do not enjoy the airborne view. You are looking down at the action - can zoom in a little closer but when you do, you lose peripheral vision; and why not give us a bag of holding (like from Icewind Dale) that can hold huge amounts of armor, weapons and jewelry. After a while you leave the landscape littered with armor or weapons because you get tired of beaming back & forth to the shopkeeper. Other than those two minor complaints, the game is outstanding. You really get your money's worth of game play & hordes & hordes of fun.

CON ROCKS!
If ya like Baldur's Gate and their ilk, you'll get a hit out of Champions. It's much along the same lines - run around, loot everything you find, and kill anything that crosses your path. It's longer than BG and BGII which is always cool and the randomized areas and monsters keep it from getting stagnant (I think I have the BG map imprinted on my brain). There are exactly two drawbacks to this game. Both of them are relatively minor. First is the camera. You can move it around, but unfortunately, the game does it for you as well which is very frustrating. It's quite distracting to be in the middle of a boss battle and suddenly have your camera angle fly around 180 degrees. The second drawback is the lack of save points. It's WAY cool that the game does automatic temporary saves, but if the game hangs (as it did to me a few times) you lose your temporary saves. I ended up using a hell of a lot of gate scrolls to go back to a real save point so I could do an actual save. I would have much preferred to have had a few more real save points. In any case, if you enjoyed BG, you need to by CON. I even got my mother addicted to it. Enjoy.

I LOVE this game
One of my all time favorites, and the reason I will never get rid of my PS2. I had to buy this used copy, because my dog ate my old one. I nearly lost it. He's eaten some books (which if you knew me, you would know I LOVE my books), shoes, remotes, even one of my phones, but Champions???!!!??? GAHHHHHH!!!So fun. Totally appeals to my OCD. I love going around collecting EVERYTHING. I have played this so many times. And, you can play multiple people, up to 4 if you have the adapter for controllers (which I do). Love! If you dig retro, questing RPGs, this is one I highly recommend.

Explore the Worlds of Norath
I found this game a bit too easy but there are times when the difficulty rating was high and it was certainly more challenging. The Prince of Hate can only be defeated a certain way regardless of what difficulty level you play. Once you figure out how to beat him and the other bosses you pretty much got the game cornered. I liked the character customization at the very beginning. You'll also notice that all the NPC's you encounter that are female have very noticable endowments to say the least. The game is prone to crashing if there's but one small scratch on the disc or if your PS2 isn't at least a year old. Yeah that bites and this is the only reason I don't give this otherwise enjoyable game more than 4 stars. The bugs will annoy you after awhile. I am fortunate enough to have ordered a game that's bug free, but I've heard other folks complain mostly about the bugs in this game. Well, I suggest renting first.

Pristine condition and prompt delivery.
Not only was the price reasonable for such a vintage game, but the disc and instruction manual were both in pristine condition. The order arrived before the other 2 vintage games I simultaneously bought from other sellers. On top of that, a hospitality mint was also included in the package, a most welcome surprise.

Awesome!!!!!
I am 33 years old and I absolutely love role-playing games, but up until just recently I had only played PC games such as Diablo and Diablo II which I loved. I recently got the PS2 and was looking for a few RPGs and when I saw the review for the Champions of Norrath and they said that anyone who likes Diablo will like this one so I bought it. I am so glad I did. I love everything about this game, the many different characters and being able to choose their appearance, the graphics, the weapons (I found a sword that kicks butt), the armor, the enchanted items, and the challenge.I am not that far into the game, but I look forward to every challenge to come. I played it for several hours last night and finally had to put it away to go to bed. This game is like that really good book that you just can't stand to put down!! Anyone just getting into gaming, take my word for it, this is definitely one to buy! And for those experienced gamers, if you like RPGs then you would love this one!

Fun game great price works perfectly
After playing the game for a week straight i feel like i can write a review about it. The game play was what you would expect from a game made at this time period. I loved the old fashion RPG style it delivered on well in its expansive world. Its game play is truly one of a kind i have yet to get the same feel from any current Triple or double A game. I loved the adventure world and lore they set up in such a fast sequence and how the maps told a story of their own. It's also great for group play often my friends and I will end up playing it for a day and a half before we realize our time has slipped away and we have other things to do. I love the game and recommend it to anyone who loves RPG's or just old map design in general.

Great game. Just like 'Balders Gate' that my wife and I liked.
A great 'slash your way through the minions' kind of game. My wife loved the 'shopping' aspect with different weapons and upgrading them and getting the best weapon. I would take a coffee break while she 'shopped'. It's good silly fun and a great distraction while in quarantine!
