Amazon Basics Portable Air Conditioner with Remote, Cools 450 Square Feet, 12000 BTU, AC Unit, White

This was ordered on 8/14/2019 and delivered today 8/16/2019. Fast service!!! Everything was in MINT shape when it arrived. Box was in great shape and all the parts were in MINT shape!!!!!! It cools fast and cold!!!! I MEAN COLD!!!!!! The only thing is that its so humid where I live it condensates alot or meaning alot of water to drain but thats ok. you drain this unit from the middle of the back and it comes with a clear drain tube to put a bucket beside it and when it fills up go dump it outside so no biggy :) I rather be cold inside and have to dump water outside once a day than to FRY like i was doing!!!!! So if this was the only complaint that so many did well thats nothing to worry about!!!!! I AM SUPER HAPPY WITH THE AMAZON BRAND AND WILL CONTINUE TO BUY THERE BRAND RIGHT OFF THIS SIGHT!!!!!!!! SUPER HAPPY!!!!

So at first, the unit did not seem to cool down the place but in all honesty it is because I installed the unit when the temp was at 97F. It took about two days to get my place down to 74F but it did it without issues and it has been able to hold my desired temp, so far. If you run this at the lowest temp on high cooling expect it to need a direct drain. Either via the sink or another drain. At high cooling on lower that 70F the unit produces a lot of condensation. The advertisement of 450 sf may be a stretch thou. The only way to achieve 450sf is to have a fan blowing into another room. Most people will not be buying this for a single room of 450sf so to move the cool air around it needs to be directed. The unit is decent for the price. Now I just have to wait and see what its lifespan is. If it last as long as the warranty claims it is a good buy.

Well, it gets really cold but unfortunately that is the only positive thing I can say about this AC. I decided to give an Amazon brand item a chance and I regret it on an almost daily basis. The unit that I received leaked a ridiculous amount of water from multiple places within about 20 minutes of being plugged in. It's humid where I live and I've had portable units for about a decade now so I know to put the hose in and let the water drain into a bin, unfortunately the water was coming out of everywhere except the hose. It was past the return date (if you order electronics make sure they work ASAP so there won't be any surprises when you use or gift it later) but Amazon was nice enough to send me another unit as long as I paid the $75 to return the first unit.I received the second unit but it leaked even worse and I returned it instead of returning the first one. I managed to fix the leak in the first one by giving it a good shake, making the unit uneven so it sits tilted to one side, and cursing it up one side and down the other.- This thing is loud. My previous portable AC required a TV volume of 12 while this one requires a minimum of 15.- It has two filters on the back but you can only remove the top one to clean it. If you want to clean the filter on the bottom you're going to have to get something really small and pick the lint out by hand.- When the compressor starts and stops there is a loud THUNK that sounds like someone kicking the side of the house. It took a while to get to the point where it doesn't wake us up every single time.- There are times when it screams. Think of the sound of a really squeaky swingset and then imagine that as a scream. I've not figured out a way to stop it but fortunately it only happens off and on for a few hours at a time.- With my previous units I would need to empty the bin of water about once or twice a week. This one needs to be emptied every day even though it drains into a bin that holds 3 gallons.- The drainage tube is at a strange place where it has to be bent to go under the exhaust hose and this causes the drainage hose to pop off. I tried both duct tape and electrical tape but ended up having to go buy a little clamp to hold the hose onto the unit.I am so sad that I trusted Amazon to make a quality product. I waited months to write this review and then over a year to post it because I didn't want to just spout off out of anger. Unfortunately, I've come to the realization that this AC is just going to continue to frustrate me until I can afford to get another one.

Very loud at 64 desibels at night time. Hard to sleep with the noise, other than that it is very powerful, cools down fast, the fan runs constantly and the compressor come on and off. The exhaust hose attaches to the back of the machine ( I know on the pics theres not a single one that shows the way it sits) it has an square adapter that transforms the circle exhaust into a square that snaps into place, very secure. Defineley very loud for night time.

Have had this a couple of years now, I think. It does its job well, keeping my bedroom nice and cool in the summer.Installation is always a bit of a pain with these things, fitting the exhaust hose in the window, but overall it wasn't too bad.Hope to at least get a few more years out of this unit, at least as long as I'm living in this place.

I have had several portable air conditioners this one for the value is as described and works well.

Works pretty good. We use it for a back bedroom that gets pretty stuffy on hot days. It takes about an hour or so to feel the effects. First we put it on dehumidifier then we put it on cool.
