Perfect for use as cat food bowls.
We have a pride of kittren that we feed wet canned food to each day. These bowls are the perfect size to divvy up a can and they are big enough to hold an entire can as well. I like the flat lip on them as it makes it easy to carry more than one at a time. There are 6 in a box and at $2.00 each, I consider them to be a good deal. Quality is good though at first I thought one has cracked during shipment. In reality, there was a string of glass that had laid over the side of the bowl, making it look cracked. It's just an imperfection that their quality inspectors overlooked. These are nice little bowls that are perfect for many uses. You can use them as dipping bowls for sushi or to hold your condiments like mustard and ketchup. They are easily popped into the top rack of the dishwasher for cleaning and sanitizing.

Perfect for a single serving of nuts, seeds & condiments
I owned the smallest size of Pyrex custard cups before this to use as condiment cups, which were bought back in the 1970's by my mother. They were not microwave-safe, were really quite small, had no lip for picking them up (really a pain in the neck, especially if what I was serving was very hot in temperature) & scratched rather easily. I did my research & decided these would fit the bill better than just getting a newer set of Pyrex cups- those were smaller, people had issues with them exploding (Pyrex is not as reliable a brand as it used to be apparently) & only came four to a pack. I wanted enough that I could entertain six people with a set. I did not want to buy metal condiment holders because they can alter the flavor of foods AND cannot be microwaved. I wanted something that could be safely put in the top rack of the dishwasher (and these come out just great washed that way, no soaking needed). A set of six, as opposed to just four, was a nice bonus & I think the price point is great for what I got. These were nicely boxed, and would've made a perfect gift, as they were packaged just as you'd expect something from a department store to be. Each one was safely packed separately, and there were no chips, scratches or marring in the glass at all. THANK YOU to the manufacturer, as well, for not sticking a stupid label on any of these bowls for me to remove. So many companies do this to their glassware & it's an absolute drag.I love these for serving horseradish sauce with roast beef or steak, melted butter w/ lobster tails, cocktail sauce with shrimp, ketchup with French fries, jalepenos & other toppings for nachos that people want on the side, hot cherry peppers with subs, au jus for dipping-style sandwiches, granola on the side for yogurt, a single serving of sunflower or pumpkin seeds (1/4 c.) & much more. Nuts & seeds are so easy to lose control with, portion-wise, and these help control that for snacking while still looking really cute for serving. I also utilize them for holding spices before baking, because I can carefully put each spice into these a tsp. or TBSP. at a time without worrying about accidentally dumping too much of a spice into a mixing bowl directly from the little spice jar. Because these are microwave-safe, you can also use them for heating up an individual serving of caramel, butterscotch or hot fudge sauce.

Not quite as nice as hoped - expensive to return.
These bowls are fine, but I was hoping for something a little nicer. They are on par with little pyrex bowls, or the 2-cup bowls you can get from pampered chef. The handles are not well balanced, so when you grab the bowl by the handle it tips out.But here's the really sad thing - since they weren't 'dressy' enough for what I wanted, I'm sending them back. My only option was to use the sellers shipping label, and the return shipping is more than $7, so I'm only getting $9 back. Booooo! So, be careful and only purchase if you're very sure they will suit your purposes.

Nice, but much smaller than advertised!
While the product description states that these will hold 8 1/4 oz, they hold only 4 -- and that's filled to the brim. I had hoped to use them as dessert/snack bowls, but I'm not sure how useful they'll be for that purpose. I'm in favor of portion control and wanted smallish bowls for things like ice cream, but it's difficult to eat a half-cup serving of ice cream out of a shallow bowl with no room to spare. That said, I like that they're cute, stackable, and dishwasher-safe. As others have noted, they are a great size for dips, sauces, nuts, etc. I'll probably keep them for such uses, but I may have to find something else to use for desserts and snacks.

Nice but fragile
These little bowls are useful for serving juicy things like beans that you don't want swimming all over the other items on your plate. They are fairly small, but as others pointed out, it forces you to control portion size.My only complaint is their fragility. While they were packaged well and arrived undamaged, I managed to chip the edge of one of them when I placed it in the drying rack. It was my fault, but I would have expected a little more resiliency given the fact that it wasn't like I dropped it on the floor.

I love them so much I bought a second set, but be careful of using them in the microwave
I have a set on nesting bowls from France that I often use for prep work, but I wanted a set of bowls that were all one size. These fit the bill and are great for:* Prep work - I load them up with all of my herbs, spices, grated cheese, condiments, etc. before I start to cook and it really makes things go faster.* Sauces - One of my friends in particular has a thing for "on-the-side". Whether it's a sauce, some gravy or a salad dressing, she wants it served separately. When she first saw these bowls she said, "Did you buy those for when you cook for me?" I replied, "Sure, just for you!"* Dipping - Seasoned Olive Oil, Thai Peanut Sauce, dip for chips or even butter for seafood, it works well for all but the biggest eater.* Condiments or toppings - Not everyone wants the same amount of mayonnaise, sour cream or hot sauce on their food. By setting them out in these bowls they not only look cute but it is also very practical. The handle on the bowls are a nice touch as well. The only negative that I have run into is that one of my bowls broke in half when I was warming something up in it in the microwave. I won't do that again. All in all, I love my little bowls (both sets) and will be buying more for Christmas gifts.

Finally found.
I had a set of 6 years/decades ago. Over time, they started to disappear. Probably broken by family members who never admitted to the deed. I was down to two, so started looking for new ones. I didn't know where to look and scoured the Internet for them. They were either sold out or discontinued. I finally found these on Amazon.ca.I am so happy. I was going to hide them from the rest of the family, lol. It's too bad they're sent via UPS. Not happy with them.
