The True Vine (Moody Classics)

A must read for anyone seeking to abide in Christ. Andrew Murray, in his delightfully eloquent way of writing, will be sure to draw you closer to our Living Savior.

Andrew Murray writes of our union with Christ as abiding branches in the true vine. He emphasizes being filled with the fullness of Christ’s life in order to live God’s ways, and to be full of joy, abundant fruit, and answered prayer.

I highly recommend this book on John 15. I loved the daily format. Each chapter is so rich and full of life giving truth that I plan to read this one over and over again to help remind me how to abide in Christ and let His life, live and light flow through me to bear much fruit!

Beautifully written meditations on John 15. Written a long time ago but remains relevant for all times. I enjoyed listening to the audio version within the kindle app.

I've always been troubled by the concept of "abiding". This devotional really helped me understand that concept better by explaining in detail the passage spoken by Jesus about the Vine. It isn't the best book for a new believer, in my opinion, but for an older believer, I believe it would greatly help the walk with Christ.

This book is so very awesome. It really blessed me and gave me a deeper understanding of the John 15 scripture. I highly recommend fellow believers in Christ.

The True Vine by Andrew Murray is a classic and I would say a must-read for any true believer and disciple of Christ. Murray outlines John 15 in a very detailed and explanatory manner that goes into the deepest parts of what it means to abide in Christ, to live as a 'vine on the branch'. This can be a tough read, especially for us who've been fed with a lot of milk (soft-teaching) at our church because this book demands a response - are we going to live our lives completely and totally devoted to Christ, or are we going to but cut off and thrown in the fire? Scary stuff, but when you read The True Vine and understand the beauty of surrendering to God, you can't help but want nothing less than to be completely and totally devoted to Him.

I have always enjoyed the parable of the Vine and the branches but reading this book made me aware how easy it is to become complacent. You picture the Vine longing for the branches to bear more fruit. It grieves Him to watch how we can lose ourselves back in the world and rob ourselves of the many blessings He has for us. We are never as good as we think we are.

this book relates directly to john 15,when jesus speaks of himself being the vine,his father the gardener,we are the the branches connected to the vine ,recieving spiritual sustance and life connected to jesus the vine.it speaks of the importance of staying connected and bearing fruit,branches not bearing fruit the father will take out and burnthe revalation of seeing jesus as the true vine is something as christians we all need to get hold of.

This book was originally published as Abide in Christ. I had borrowed a copy from my pastor. I kept wanting to re-read it and write everything down. So I was really delighted to find that I could obtain a printed version for only £1.

Praise our Lord for Andrew Murray, and all his writings . Words fail to express the Spiritual depth.

Its not like a book.more a pamphlet...words dont flow...put it in the bin...same as a recent amazon attempt of a similar book by the same author..will buy second hand.
