Wee Believers Lil' Prayer Buddy Louie The Lamb (3 Prayer)

Love this cute little lamb! I bought this lamb in September, 2016 for my great-nephew's Baptism and I think it is darling. I read the other reviews and maybe they have changed the way it is manufactured, but here is my opinion. 1) making it work - you have to open the back and pull the tab out for it to play. I did this and it still did not play. I had to open the battery compartment and take the batteries out and remove part of the tab that had stuck onto one of the batteries. 2) sound - the voice on the one I got was fine, and far from "creepy" as some of the other reviews have said. It is kind of childlike, but not necessarily a child's voice. I did not think it was too loud, but it was loud. If it is too loud for you, you can put a piece of scotch tape over the speaker. 3) These are Catholic prayers, and therefore, the Doxology is not added onto the Lord's Prayer, at least not on the lamb I received. (Someone said it was included in the Lord's prayer on their lamb, and someone else seemed surprised that the prayers were Catholic prayers.) I will be ordering another one of these for my granddaughter for Christmas.

Perfect gift for baby, baptism, or dedication. Very cute lamb, nice size and easy for little ones too hold. I did not think it was too loud nor did I think the voice was "creepy" as another person had commented. It's simply a child's voice. If you turn over the toy, yes it does get louder with the speaker facing you. As for the safety of the battery insert, if properly fastened the Velcro is really grippy. It would be difficult for a small child to open. With that said I still probably wouldn't assume these things can't happen and would supervise the child. Two of the prayers I don't know because I'm not catholic but I still liked the idea of the prayers and their meanings. I think there are different versions with different prayers.

Cute little lamb says three prayers. I took it out of the plastic bag as soon as I got it because others had suggested it needed to air out. There was no strong odor, in fact barely any odor. I pulled the plastic tab out of the battery pack, and it worked! There were a few moments where the voice sounded crackly and hard to understand, but overall it was good enough. I bought this for a Christmas present for my 1 1/2 year old godchild. Seems kind of small for the price, but I saw it in a store for $21 before purchasing here for a little less.

Louie the Lamb is surprisingly soft and huggable for an electronic toy. My infant son likes the different textures of his arms and 'wool', and enjoys looking at his different colors and patterns. There is a bit of a lingering plastic smell from the packaging, but it's only noticeable if you stick your nose right on it. The odor can probably be removed easily by a quick steaming or wipe-down, but it wasn't severe enough for me to bother.The prayers that are played (the Our Father, Hail Mary, and Glory Be) are spoken and recorded very clearly, with the exception of the beginning of the Glory Be, which is somewhat distorted on mine. The child on the recording speaks without mumbling and at a steady pace, giving a clear sense that the words have actual meaning, instead of rushing through and mashing the words together into an incoherent jumble like half of the sacrilegious brats in your local CCD class. Overall, I recommend this toy to any Catholic looking to introduce their children to prayer.

Just received these in the mail today(I just LOVE my PRIME account).. I will DEFINATELY be purchasing a few more for gifts. One commenter stated "but the child's voice is a bit creepy. I didn't expect the voice to sound like a child's voice from a horror movie :)." which actually made me hesitant to buy. Glad I did because I DO NOT think it sounds like a child's voice from a horror movie(granted I don't watch those types of movies and haven' t seen one in a long time. but a kids voice is a kids voice... You will not regret this purchase. Great way to get the kids to say their prayers, esp when they are first learning them.

This was a wonderful hit. All the kids loved it. The parents asked where did you get it?It is Catholic, the prayers are right. The voice is quiet and the lamb is soft and huggable.

I bought this for a baby's baptism. I'm just a family friend and was looking for something appropriate since I was not a grandparent or godparent. It was a great success and the family really enjoyed it. I saw some criticisms (in the previous reviews) that the toy was too loud, but none of the people I spoke to believed that to be true of the toy I purchased. If you're looking for an appropriate gift (especially for a catholic family) I would highly recommend this product!

I purchased 2 of these one for my 6 year old and one for my 3 year old. My 6 year old sleeps with it every night and many times carries it around with her, my 3 year old likes it as well although I would say this is more geared towards ages 5 or 6 and up.All in all I would definitely purchase these again and may do so as gifts in the future.

A cute prayer buddy. A three out of five stars because it only cited one prayer (it was supposed to cite three prayers).
