DynaTrap DT0500IN Indoor Insect and Mosquito Trap Wall Mount, 1,250 Square Feet, White

We always get mosquitoes in the house every spring, even though I tape around the edges of our screens, and hang flying pest strips in the garage. So I thought I'd give one of these Dynatrap Indoor Insect Eliminators a try. It does catch flying insects, although moths seem much more interested in this trap than mosquitoes. I ran it indoors for a week and caught exactly one gnat, so I put it out on the front porch and ran it overnight, just to see what got trapped. When I opened it up the next morning, I counted 4 mosquito hawks, 3 little brown moths, 3 little black beetles, numerous gnats, and two mosquitoes. Possibly the mosquito hawks had eaten some of the trapped mosquitoes, so the count might not have been exact.Anyway, these are some of the 'features' I'd like to see improved before I can whole-heartedly recommend this product:--the fan is fairly noisy,and the blue lights are bright enough so that you probably won't want to run this unit in your bedroom--even though I've only been running this product intermittently for a couple of weeks, one of the fluorescent bulbs is already buzzing and flickering like it isn't going to last much longer--if you and this product are shut in a room with a mosquito, the mosquito will choose you over the trap--this product doesn't automatically kill the bugs that are trapped in it. Be sure to spray them before you open it up to clean it, unless you plan to swat the captives as they fly away.

We own 3 of the Dynatraps. Two are a different style than this one. But we like them all.They appear to do the job they're supposed to do and they do it with a comforting home and lovely Violet color light..

I placed one of these units in our office to the left of the outside entry door. It immediately started attracting flying insects of all kinds including mosquitoes. I have used it for 6 months through summer and into the fall. Every few days I would empty the waste bin and would find 20 or more assorted flying insects. It works.The office didnt have a real problem with flying insects the occasional house fly, gnats etc. Now we dont see any flying bugs at all. I liked this unit because there were no necessary poisons or sprays used to deal with the insects. Its a clean environmentally friendly way to deal with bugs.

It doesn’t have a screen on the bottom baskets and the bugs it has caught just fall out.....really odd. I do not know if that is normal or did I receive it with missing parts.

For the price of this item, get something else. Catches mostly moths and other flying insects, not mosquitos. And even those are far and few caught in the unit. Don't find that it attracts mosquitos and that's really why I bought it. Disappointed for sure. Got it for last summer, used it and now need to find something else for the bugs that get in the house.

catches nothing bought the dynatrap 2000 an this white one for my house neither one worked for flies or mosquitoes only catches moths an june bugs very disappointed even called dynatrap an the man said I had to put it way across the yard to keep the bugs away but it really doesn't work so I am going to ask for a refund unless you want the hassle don't buy this from this company

It works ok. The fan is much noisier than expected. We can hear it throughout the first floor. Worst part, is it has only caught a hand full of flies after a week. Wouldn't recommend for house flies.

It claims to be whisper quiet, but it is far from it. To loud to install in the office area.
