this is a great little set I got for so cheap on Black Friday. the scissors and needles are great quality and very sturdy. the thimble is plastic so I don't use it but all the colors mean I have the thread for almost everything I'm fixing.

Super tiny rolls of thread that tend to break easily. The other stuff is dollar store quality as well. If you want something that you won't have to repair twice, buy something better.

great kit for the money, sewing kits in local retail stores cost more money then this for far less. you get a decent amount on thread on each spool, more needles then you could ever need and a bunch of other tools that most kits dont include, worth the buy

I'm sure this isn't top of the line stuff but it was a more than fair price for what I got. My wife was always to busy to sew stuff for me or the kids so this product and a YouTube tutorial later I've patched coats, stuffed anilmals, clothing, and bedding as well as making simple covers to keep dust off of/out of items around the house. Small enough to fit in a bag or even many purses while having a great variety of colors and tools to serve your needs.

Unthreading the spool of thread was more difficult than needed to be. And the thimbles are basic. As I am sewing badges for a cub scout uniform, I'm going to invest in something more heavy duty.

As is often the case, not all of the reviews seem to be referencing the same item. For $8.99, I purchased a travel/emergency sewing kit that is in a well-made, zippered case and contains numerous sewing items, as well as too many colors of thread to easily count. I am beyond thrilled. I recently moved from a large home to a small apartment and left my sewing machine and numerous sewing items behind. Trying to get by with a tiny little free kit I got somewhere, I quickly learned that I needed more comprehensive help without taking up very much space. This kit is the perfect solution for my needs! No, it does not have countless huge spools of thread and bobbins. No, you will not have enough thread to make a suit of clothes. But yes, you'll have a very helpful selection of sewing items to get you out the door the next time your hem rips or your button falls off, etc., etc., etc.! I, for one, am very grateful to have it!
