I have temperature regulation issues, so I'm either freezing cold or sweating all night. I was staying at a friend's place, and all she had were two of these lightweight bamboo blankets. I got 9 hours straight without waking up sweaty at all! I got home and ordered one, which my fiance promptly stole so he could wrap himself like a burrito at night. So I ordered another, which he designated his "office blanket". I have a total of 5 of these blankets for my home, all in different colors, all of which are exactly as vibrant as pictured. I sent purple ones to my mom, dad, sister, and even a childhood friend; they're pretty much my go-to gift. These are perfect for anyone who's hard to shop for. They're different from the average blanket. Lightweight and stretchy, large enough to wrap around my 5'10" frame and then some. My 6'4" dad had no complaints! They breathe enough to keep you cool in the summer, and if you do sweat at night, let it air dry for a couple minutes and you can barely feel any moisture. In the colder months, they keep you insulated. The directions say not to use a dryer; I tumble dry them (no heat) with no issues, and they remain unbelievably soft and cozy, but use your best judgement. You can fold the blanket in half for a bit of extra weight, and they're still large enough to cover you. In the spare bedroom, we find that guests prefer to use one of the bamboo blankets over their top sheet vs a bulky comforter! These blankets fold up small. In the pictures, I've folded it to 9"×18"×2" and used a soup can for scale. Notice how much less space it takes up on the blanket shelf! I'm absolutely in love with these blankets.

In the hot months, like now, I usually sleep with just a sheet because any blanket is just too hot. I still end up kicking the sheet off in the middle of the night because I feel too hot. I have a hard time sleeping without any covering, but even with just a sheet I tend to feel too hot. I thought I would try this blanket and I LOVE it. Not once have I kicked it off during the night. I get the "curl up with a blanket" feeling, but its so lightweight and breathable that I've yet to feel hot underneath it or kick it off. I am sleeping peacefully through the night now. I wouldn't necessarily call it a "cooling" blanket. My definition of a cooling blanket would be one that actually cools you down. This doesn't cool me down, however I don't get hot under it either. For me personally, because its so lightweight and breathable, I do feel it does the job of not trapping heat and letting it escape through the material so that you maintain a comfortable body temperature while you sleep. That is enough for me and I love this blanket. Oh and I forgot to mention....it is soooooooo soft! I washed mine on the delicate cycle and let it flat dry under a ceiling fan (I didn't have any way to line dry as recommended) and I did not experience any shrinkage. I have a queen size, and after washing it and flat drying, it still fits the queen bed perfectly.

Overall - especially for the price - my husband and I love it. It’s a great blanket and absolutely does feel cool - especially for the summer, and it does feel even cooler if you only sleep under it instead of the sheet. It will absolutely snag, especially if you have pets. It’s really not a big deal for us, but if appearances are an issues, that is something to consider. For washing I was initially disturbed because the instructions say to line dry and we do not have a place for that. I looked it up, and tried this, and it works. Wash in the washer on a gentle cycle. It will take several dryer cycles but if you do a couple air dry cycles and one or two of tumble dry low heat it will eventually dry and feel back to normal-ish. Overall though, I personally love it, and would absolutely buy it again (and might so we have another one while we are waiting for the other to dry!)

It is so soft. With a little weight to it that helps you feel comfy cozy, without keeping body heat in, so my night sweats didnt bother me. I sleep much better. Beautiful color purple and held it color well after a run through the washer. Dried in dryer, in the provided bag, no heat, and it came out beautifully. Would highly recommend to others that have night sweats!

I bought this blanket to use in bed for the summer since it sometimes gets hot overnight. However, I found this blanket is a little TOO cooling for me at night. I do use it in the living room as a throw, and it is perfect for that. I sometimes end up taking a nap on the couch and wake up very hot, but this blanket has eliminated that. It is very lightweight and if you move the blanket on your body, the part that was not touching you feels cool. My son tried this blanket and loved it so much, he bought one for his bed and one for a throw in the living room. I concur with the other reviewers who stated this blanket can shrink, though. It was very big when I got it and I washed it in the gentle cycle in my washer instead of handwashing like the instructions suggested, and it didn't shrink. However, it was very heavy when it came out of the washer so I decided to dry on no heat, and it did shrink then. I have since re-washed it and let it air dry, and it has returned to its original size. I did not experience any fraying or problems with the weave as some other reviewers reported. My son has only handwashed and air dried his blanket and reports no shrinkage.

I love the length and it is very comfy. I don’t think it is is “cooling” as advertised but overall a nice blanket.

Straight out of the packaging this blanket feels heavy, but once unfolded you can tell it is a lightweight blanket. I did not hand wash it as directed, rather I tossed it in my washing machine <top loading agitator machine> with a bit of Woolite and on the hand wash cycle. I also did not line dry it, rather I ran it through my electric dryer on air fluff for 30 minutes and then on auto ‘less dry’ <delicate heat setting> until the dryer turned off per the sensor. The blanket came out just fine! No pilling or shrinkage that I could discern! I purchased the larger size and after washing/drying it fits my queen size bed. I will be trying it out tonight to see if it helps with my constantly changing body temp throughout the night and will update this review periodically. So far I’m pleasantly surprised at the quality & size for the price! Update 8-23-2019 This blanket has been a lifesaver! Light enough that you don’t overheat, yet substantial enough to keep you comfortable while you sleep. So far I am sticking with the 5-stars I gave it out of the box!

After reading most of the reviews, I decided to buy anyway. Loved the good reviews, and they were right on target. I washed the blanket as soon as I received it. Filled the machine with cool soapy water, swished the blanket around, then set it on "Gentle" cycle at half time. Put it in the dryer on "fluff". Took it out after 20 minutes and stretched it out across my sofa when I went to bed. The outside seams had two threads out. Trimmed, and it's Perfect!! I wasn't sure it would be cool as I've had a bamboo blanket before that I wound up sweating under. I have a Queen bed, but am single. I folded the blanket in half, and it is PERFECT ... for me! it didn't shrink much that I could tell, but I don't have two people sleeping under it. I'm in North Texas in an apartment that gets a ton of warm (HOT) wind blowing across my bedroom bay windows, and through the carport that my bedroom is situated over, so it gets hot hot hot. This blanket is cool cool cool. Delightfully surprised. :) A+++
