McDavid Hinged Knee Brace for Men & Women, Maximum Knee Support & Compression for Stability & Recovery, Ligament, Hyperextension Support - LARGE

Very solid knee brace that really holds my knee in place. Pretty comfortable; no chaffing. It’s a little tough to remove after a workout where I sweat since it slides on over the leg as opposed to attaching an open side on the back of the knee.

I don't know what any of the less then 5 star reviews received but this is obvious in the photo that it does not open up. I measured my knee and ordered accordingly- Perfect fit. Tore ACL and Meniscus Tuesday night working out. Had a less supportive brace until this arrived Friday and was extremely unstable. Remained as active as possible after injury to maintain flexibility so no crutches. Once I put this on tonight it was amazing. In fact you have to be careful that you do not get over confident due to the support. Some reviews stated the brace did not prevent hyper-extension ... False! The hinges lock in the forward/straight leg position. This is an amazing brace that allows straight forward mobility. Will be able to get back to working out and maintain muscle size and flexibility until I can receive surgery. To top it off, the price is excellent. I am amazed how great I feel. This brace is incredibly well made. It was almost perfect. I sent it back because the padding around the patella was too thick and it aggravated my knee rather than relieving the pain. I was hoping it would be a good replacement for an old one that I have from an orthopedic surgeon. That particular one has an opening for the patella with no padding. That’s the style that works best for me however I can’t seem to find a hinged brace made like that.

These are great to help with knee support and compression. The adjustability and ease of use is great.

I've been having trouble with my knee where every move I make to affect it and makes you stumble so I wanted to give my knee some support which is why I picked a brace with the hinges. But the hole for the knee cap is worthless because the seam sits right on top of the knee cap. I don't understand the point of that but in my case it just emphasized the pain adding more pressure and creating more pain. So I made this work. First I cut that center piece out. I was able to get the brace on to support the movement of my knee but it doesn't touch the knee cap. But then the trouble was getting it on and off so I cut a slice right down the middle of the front. Now I have a brace that is easy to get on and helps support my knee from sudden movement. I can't jump up and down or do a front kick... but it does feel stable and makes me feel more comfortable.

I bought this knee brace after I strained my MCL. Initially, I didn't use anything and kept going through a cycle of teaching yoga and aggravating the ligament then dealing with an inflamed knee area. Rest, ice, repeat. I finally decided enough was enough and I needed to stabilize my knee and allow it to fully heal. I purchased this brace in September and wore every day for six weeks (for the first couple of weeks, I would sleep in it because my knee was so inflamed after too much activity I needed to stabilize it overnight) and then only when I taught yoga or exercised for another 4 weeks. By November, my knee was pretty much healed, but I needed to regain flexibility of the ligament. In February, I decided to use acupuncture to address the residual pain and stiffness that I could feel after I would increase my physical activity. After 4 weeks of acupuncture, I was completely healed. No more knee pain. This is a great brace if you need support or need to stabilize the knee ligaments due to strain. Highly recommend.

Finally! A knee brace for hyperextension that fits over pants and doesn’t slide down! The Donjoy models I found slipped down in bare skin and over pants. This doesn’t and is cheaper. I wish I would have found this a long time ago! I’m 5’8” man 165 lbs. with pretty muscular thighs if that’s helpful for fit - I got the large.

Was hopeful for this brace to help with hypertension. But, never got it on. There was a label in the box annotating something along the line of {...not for folks prone to dermititis ...} So, I returned them with trying on. I went back to the product page and couldn't find any words to reflect the dermititis issue. Would suggest the page owner update the product information to include the warning.

Very comfortable to wear and provides fantastic knee support and prevention from hyper extension. Expensive, but definitely worth it. Unfortunately will be getting another one for my other knee.

I have been wearing this since past 14 months. This really is one of the best products globaly. I have all theee ligaments in my right knee operated due to excessive kitchen work which caused my ligaments to tear one by one. This really has helped tremendeously in my general everyday functioning.
