Honest Review from an AMD Enthusiast
PROS:- She's blazing fast when done right. With my cooling setup, I was able to hold it stable at 5.1GHz. Performance at those speeds is very impressive.- For what you can get from it, the price point is reasonable, especially when compared with Intel chips.- For multitasking (video editing and the like) this CPU is incredible.CONS:- As stated before, there's not much room for overclocking, so if you want it to run at 5.0+, you're going to need some skill.- This thing runs HOT AS BLAZES. You will need either a really good liquid cooling solution (dual fan dedicated radiator or better) or an absolutely incredible air cooling solution. I honestly don't think air cooling is viable, but at stock clocks it should be fine.Concerning details such as the CPU's 220 wattage and limited selection of motherboard compatibility, these are things you should be researching before you buy the product. I have an ASUS Crosshair V Formula-Z.Overall, I don't regret the purchase and still feel it's a better buy than much of what Intel offers, especially considering the price.

Great perfomance for the price!
Honestly, I haven't used an AMD processor in years. I used to be one of those elitists that always had to pay the extra money for the best performance. Recently I wanted to upgrade my computer and figured I would try out AMD since the price on this was recently lowered, and not much a performance difference than Intels 4770k.I honestly can say it performs great for what I need it to do. I am by no means an electronics engineer, so I can not attest to all the spec differences or draw backs, but I do enjoy playing PC games, and I have not had any issues with this one. I also got that ASUS Crossfire Formula-Z and a R9 290x, and I have not had any issues on performance. In fact I am tempted to upgrade to a 120hz monitor due to the fact that there is only a few games where the frames per second drop below 60hz. Over clocking is easy and simple, though I wasn't able to squeeze too much extra power due to running an air cooling setup. From what I researched, AMD does not plan to release any new FX series chips out for a while. But considering the new next generation consoles run AMD as well, I do expect a lot of the new games to be AMD optomized. Which should mean I hopefully won't need to upgrade anytime soon.If you are looking for a solid performer, consider this product. It seems there are a lot of arguements for and against it, but I am happy with it over all.

Monster CPU
This CPU is killer.I just wish i hadn't bought it when it was obsolete. when i purchased this CPU it was already 2 years old and being outperformed by most of the 4th, 5th, and 6th gen i7s. so why did i pick this CPU instead of one of those?1. It is cheaper. At the time of purchase i paid about 250$ which is a lot better than the prices for similar i72. Speed. This thing is blazing fast!!! 4.7GHz stock! and is supposed to boost to 5.0GHz, i couldn't get that part to work so I just overclocked it to 5.1 and keep it there and it doesn't complain. You can easily overclock it if you know what youre doing. i just used a preset that was built in with my motherboard to get it to 5.1. it runs stable all day long. when i was trying to tweak it and go high i got to 5.5 but that was a little scary. but it is definitely possible to go higher if you have enough cooler, a good motherboard, and the knowhow.3. Cores. its freakin 8 cores of blistering fast speed. no it doesn't hyperthread but it goes 5.0ghz with ease on all 8 cores. that's awesome and a feat that is hard to come by on 4 cores with intel. that is a lot of processing power at your fingertips to do with whatever you please.intel has only recently started getting into the high core CPU game and their prices are god awfully high so its a gamble for you pay less for more cores and speed or pay more for more quality from intel but at the expense of other computer parts?I leave that to you to figure it. this was the choice i made for my build am pleased with it. hopefully if these new RYZEN chips from AMD pay off to work well i may have my hands on another high core count monster CPU but time will tell.

Super Processor with heavy operational requirements
This core runs perfectly. It does draw a LOT of power which means it is hot. I water cool mine so not an issue. Is it worth more than the 8350? I don't think so. If you want top of the line bragging rights than by all means go for it, but for gaming and or normal computing the cost and extra hassle to operate is not worth the trouble. Maybe rendering or video processing make it worth the extra setup troubles.Be aware that the operating requirements for this processor are very high. It requires a specific motherboard from an approved list of brands and models that can output enough power from the on-board VRMs. It requires water cooling. This usually means a larger power supply as well. All this adds up to more expense and planning to operate it successfully.Mine has been in 2 motherboards and used different memory. It is running flawlessly right now in an Asus motherboard with 16GB of DDR3-2133 RAM.

CPU mostruosa!!!
