Using rewiring trailer brakes! Able to run each side separately and leave nothing to catch on brush when pulling through fields.

Really like the tandem wire for my trailer brakes, made it so much easier to replace the old stuff having the wires joined together. Heavy duty wire that's actually copper and not aluminum with a micro thin copper coating. Have plenty left over to redo my other trailer.

Some nice-looking wire on a handy spool. The wire is stiff so the copper's definitely there, but I was surprised how thin it was overall. For me this works better than 2-core wire as I'll be passing through plastic conduits.Lowes and Home Depot occasionally offer deep discounts on wire but I haven't got lucky with any 2-core or 2-bonded offers lately so I got this. The first thing I do with wire is check conductivity, to avoid headaches and wasted time down the line. I tested it with a 27 watt 12 volt light over the full 100 feet and noted the current, and voltage at both ends - it performs exactly as 12awg copper wire should. Actually I wondered if they'd given me the full 100 feet! ... so I measured it, it came close enough.This is going to be used for powering a 60 watt 12 volt water pump which should give four metres lift (it's rated for five metres). I'm cutting it fine, I should try 10 gauge (there's nothing close price-wise) or find some way of boosting the voltage a little at the other end. But I'm happy with this wire, it performs just like 12 gauge wire should.

This is some pretty decent wire. It's quite stiff and holds some semblance of a shape when it's bent which is nice. If you're looking for the "floppy" kind of wire, this isn't it. The insulation is quite thick as well, which seems like it would be well suited for outdoor or industrial application.That being said, I seriously doubt this is 12ga wire. I have some 12ga speaker wire and this isn't even close to the same size. The size of the conductor, as well as the overall diameter, is quite a bit smaller. That's why I knocked off a star. I was really hoping for some bigger wire, but I guess I can always double it up if it won't hold the current as-is.
