Skullcandy Pipe Audio Docks S7PIBZ-CZ for iPod and iPhone (Chrome)

I own two of these & they are great. Sound is very decent & well worth the price. Only fault is that the connectors seem to short out after repeated use (attaching & removing) making the connection sensitive to movement. While this happens with connections of this sort, it is annoying. I will be needing to open one & re-solder the wires inside to fix this problem, as it is finally getting annoying & affecting performance.However as I said, the unit is a great portable solution to having big stereo sound in a small package. Runs on batteries or with adapter, which is perfect. Also, it can be found for a lot cheaper than many equivalent units. This is my second one & I recommend them if you can get them at a decent price.

My 10-year-old uses this for her Ipod nano (5th gen) and the sound is amazing. It comes with a remote, which we both think is really cool and lightweight. We're also able to hook it up to our computer for added volume when we watch movies. Every product I've ever bought from Skullcandy has been great, but I was still surprised at the quality of the product for the price. I absolutely recommend this!

I loved this little speaker. It's so light, small and it looks pretty rugged.I got it to play movies in class, because my MacBook Air isn't loud enough. But then it just quit working. Doesn't work with batteries, doesn't work with the power cord.Completely dead now, but sadly it did work TOO long to get my money back.I wouldn't buy another one. I need more than 2 months service for $70!

super easy to use and great sound.Update: 6 months later, one of the power cord plugs snapped off, making it unusable. I'd have hoped it would have lasted longer than 6 months. Sigh. I guess it's what I get for paying $20 for a speaker.... It was great while it lasted.

I'll give the Skullcandy Pipe 3 stars because the first one I purchased (not from amazon.com) and subsequently returned for a replacement, was defective. If I finagled with it, I could get both speakers to work. When both speakers were working, the sound was crisp and clean and the volume was audible enough to fill a small bedroom with sound, but out of the box the right side speaker of my Pipe didn't work properly; it sort of hissed, crackled and popped. One thing to note is that it's difficult to depress the button at the bottom-center of the iPod when the iPod is in the Pipe's dock due to the depth at which the iPod sits in the dock, so the included remote control is essential. While this doesn't affect performance, it's an annoyance to access the iPod's menu, such as to change tunes, without the remote and so I consider this a design flaw, but I'm not sure if the flaw is with design of the iPod or the Pipe. The Pipe is approximately 9" in length and 1-1/2" in diameter. Many reviewers commented that it was larger [or smaller] than they expected, but it's the perfect size for a dresser or nightstand, has a lower profile than the majority of docking stations currently on the market, and isn't too big to be portable. There are 2 rubber feet on the underside at front and a rubber foot that cleverly installs over the slide release for the battery cover, so the Pipe doesn't roll. You can power the Pipe with the included A/C wall adapter or by installing 4 AAA batteries (not included). A docking station with larger speakers will produce a fuller sound, but for what this is, at a price point of around $60, the Pipe is a good choice.UPDATE 2/2/12: Replacement pipe is doing the same thing as the first. After only a few weeks of use, docking and undocking the ipod from the Pipe, the connection between the dock and the iPod is worn and the connection to the speakers is failing. I suppose this is just how they are, but Skullcandy should better design the dock.

This is a good product for the price. Great size for taking with me. Although it is small, it still has a good volume and sounds good. Works great with my ipod touch, with the exception of the songs I got from Rhapsody. The remote will not work with these songs, so I have to manually press fast forward, etc., which is quite annoying. The remote works with the songs I purchased from itunes. I would give it 5 stars if the remote would work with rhapsoday songs.

This device was all I hoped it would be. Fantastic sound and volume from such a small little unit. Charging works great and the remote works great at well over 20 feet away. Super happy and considering buying a second one for my desk at work.Only complaint is It could be a little more stable but really that's just the tradeoff you get for having such a compact stylish device.One warning though do not leave batteries in it, just put them in when you're planning on going mobile... Can't say for sure if it was the unit or just bad batteries but the first set I installed ended up leaking after about a week and making a bit of a mess to clean up. Once the battery gunk was cleaned up though there was no harm to the pipe.

I love this little unit for the extra compact size and multiple capabilities in a small package. Obviously, you're going to be lacking a bit of bass in a unit this size, but in a small room, it does a creditable job of simulating a good bass response. I like that fact that not only does it charge my Ipod classic while it's playing, but allows me to connect other devices through the auxiliary cable as needed as well. And it can even take batteries if you need to take it somewhere with no electrical outlets! I've got three of these now, one for home one for the office, and one for a family member!

A fabulous product!May 10 year old grandson loves it.

After a few months the volume button does not keep a steady volume and shuts off on its own. My first skull candy was amazing the new one is garbage
