Get it From Amazon Direct or Regret
First, contact the toll free number in the owner's manual to get the tech manual PDF emailed. It has a much better troubleshooting guide. The reason the rinse aid warning light comes on is because the rinse aid dispenser inside the machine is empty. The owner's manual doesn't mention it. Rinse aid is not required but recommended.I ordered this from Amazon to wash the aluminum parts for the Inertia Nutcrackers I manufacture. There are burrs on the aluminum after it is cut to size so I run them through a vibratory tumbler. The tumbler solution leaves gunk all over the parts that doesn't easily rinse off. So I ordered this dishwasher. When I got it, none of the cycles would advance past the first pre-wash sequence. The timer would just stop and it would go through pre-wash indefinitely. After about 30 minutes it rinsed the parts well enough, but not I'd rather have a machine that works correctly. The nice lady at Magic Chef had me forward my Amazon receipt before they would tell me where to carry in the dishwasher for warranty service. So I emailed the receipt immediately. An hour later they emailed me they would email me where to send it in the next 48 hours. (Make sense?)I seriously doubt there is a service center within 100 miles of here. And I'd bet dollars to dog biscuits that it would take a week or two for them to get the parts in before they got around to fixing it.I had a better solution; I contacted Amazon. They are sending me out a replacement today so I'll have it in a couple of days and just box this one back up without leaving my office.I bought this on Amazon over the weekend for $259. 5 days later it is $290.The reason I'm starting with 5 stars is because of the better price, fast Amazon service, and even hobbled as it is, it does what I need.

Cleans better than my $800 built in model and is just as quiet.
I bought this for our second home, which is occupied by some of my adult children. We have been using this dishwasher almost every day for over 3 years. Dishes come out sparkling clean.A few points about what we have learned:1. It doesn't fit under the cabinets so I bought a rolling metal cart: Seville Classics Stainless-Steel NSF-Certified Professional Kitchen Work Table Cart, 24" W x 20" D x 36" H, 2 ft. with Wheels from Amazon. The dishwasher fits perfectly, and I can move the dishwasher/cart easily around my small kitchen.2. The cart is also great because the hose drips water, so I went to a garden store and bought a cute plastic pot to hold the curled up hose and dripping water. I just need to empty the ~inch of water out of the pot about once/week.3. I found out quickly to NOT pre-wash the dishes in the sink using any liquid dish detergent, otherwise there will be soap suds in the dishwasher after many rinses. So, I "pre-wash" using just water, I fill up the left side of the detergent tray with powdered dish detergent, I also use Finish rinse-aid. The dishes come out sparkling clean.4. The heated cycles produced a strange smell so I opt not to use them.5. I always wash in the following order:one quick wash (45 minutes)two rinse cycles (24 minutes each)I start my load just before bedtime and whoever gets up in the middle of the night changes the cycle to rinse and starts the rinse cycle. In the morning I unplug the machine, roll it to its corner, open the door and in about an hour the dishes air dry and are ready to put away.Note: with careful loading we only have to do dishes once/day for two or three people. When this machine, or my built in one at home, finally fails, I am going to buy this machine again as a replacement.

Run Away
Sprayer Arm was crooked so that the arm stuck against even an empty basket on the right side looking in. Saw two screws holding it on so I removed them and placed a very small washer on the left side to raise it into a more level position.. The sprayer arm was leveled and pretty good. When loaded however the basket continued to impinge on the sprayer mostly near the center.. I found this all out AFTER I had tossed all the elaborate packaging, really remarkable, so returning it was not an option. So I used body force to bend the basket a tiny it upwards near its center. That did the trick. After about 5 loads, the attaching device started spraying water all over the kitchen. I mean Old Faithful gushing.I called Magic Chef "Customer Service" and was told that my "washer", an O-ring probably fell out of the unicouple (that what the hose attaching device is called.) "Just take it into a hardware store and get a replacement. Knowing of the hundreds of sizes of O-Rings, I then tried their chat line and asked them to send me a replacement...they CANNOT. I said, then tell me what number the O-ring was...they CANNOT. Where the O-ring went, I have no clue.I have a pile of various O-rings, either too big or too small, So I will continue to search.I am furious that I may have bought myself a 50 pound paperweight..I strongly recommend against this dishwasher. It is very poorly conceived and manufactured,I recommend you look elsewhere for your dishwasher.I strongly recommend you do not buy this item.
