Rather disapointing
I had high hopes for this device. The online documentation indicated that it was a MH-ET LIVE Scanner v3.0 and supported PDF417 and Data Matrix barcodes. When you finally find the instruction manual, it makes no mention of PDF417 or Data Matrix and they don't work. QR seems to work OK but large QR codes greater than 45x45 don't seem readable. In fact large barcodes of any kind don't seem readable. Another problem is that Composite barcodes don't seem to read correctly. If it reads at all, only one part is returned. The ability to use an HID or USB-Serial interface is a nice touch and that works well. There is a logic level serial interface on the center pins of the Mode selection jumpers that could be used but it is 3.3V only. It should work with an Arduino serial interface but I have not tried it.There appears to also be an I2C interface, however, there is no documentation for it. It appears to be an I2C slave interface so not too useful even if there was documentation. The Module matches the documentation on Amazon for the most part but the online documentation needs to be clarified.

Works perfectly
Got it - took the yellow jumpers and moved them inboard, plugged my USB cable in to the right USB port (the port closest to the side with the scan button), plugged it in to my Mac and scanned a Datamatrix barcode generated at any of the free, online Datamatrix barcode generation sites. Perfect scan, right in to Text Edit. The manual indicates commands that should be sent to make the device perform other functions. I suspect those can be sent via i2C. I shall see!

No Datamatrix support
Just like another reviewer, I bought this specifically for it's advertised DataMatrix scode support. Unfortunately, this claim is a lie, and it does not support DataMatrix codes. In addition, no mnaual with control codes is provided, I have to google to find it. There are no mentioning of DataMatrix support in the manual.I give it 2 stars (not 1) because it appears to work somewhat.

Bought this at work for a project....
Technical documentation unless you are using USB is nonexistent.By scanning the i2c bus on my esp8266 with only this connected, I come up with addresses 0x0B, 0X10, 0X14.What, exactly, these correspond to.... quite frankly, it's a bit ridiculous that I have to do a bunch of poking at it to discover at all.Don't advertise a TTL interface if you're not going to provide documentation.
