Sorry for the length, but the negative reviews have me thinking that people must be doing something wrong. I have used both the medium and dark levels of this product. They do not streak. They do not turn orange. First, let me say that I have very white skin that doesn't tan easily. The medium only darkens enough that my legs look like normal people's legs in mid-winter. Which is what I use it for. For a summer tan look, I go with the dark. I looked up instructions on neutragena.com and followed them meticulously, including the recommendation to exfoliate aggressively right before applying. I bought a rough scrubbie and some exfoliation gel (also neutragena) and scrubbed the life out of my elbows, knees, and ankles. I sprayed after the shower as soon as I was dried. Then when applying, make sure to hold the can far enough away; if you get it closer than 6 inches, the spray won't go on evenly and you'll get the dreaded streaks. I started on my calves and moved up to thighs, avoiding spraying directly on feet and knees; the micro-mist gets enough there. Being that the stuff is clear and takes hours to develop, you just have to trust that you got everywhere; don't try spraying until your skin feels wet. (I do think being clear is an advantage though. It doesn't make a mess in the area where you spray it!) If you know you are going to want a second coat, you can put it on as soon as your skin is totally dry from the first; that only takes about 5 minutes. On the face, I sprayed a small applicator and used that to apply. That seemed to work better than mixing it with facial moisturizer in my palm and applying.

This works great and does not have the nasty smell of a lot of other self tanners. Nice color; you need to apply it daily to keep up the color

Good product but you need to be sure to get #3 as less than that is very light

The product works just fine but don't use it with skin so soft bug guard plus because it will remove the tan almost instantly.
