AirPods Ear Tips

I'm using these tips with my Apple EarPods (both the 3.5mm version and the USB-C version). I'm using the "small size" version of the tips. I played "Dreams" by The Cranberries with these silicone tips on and off, and there is a clear and very audible difference in the sound signature. With the tips on, the sound is fuller (and not just in the bass), and the music plays twice as loud. When plugged into my M1 iMac, in order to reach the same SPL (sound pressure level) with the tips off, I have to bring the volume to 50% (eight bars out of 16), whereas I only have to bring it to 25% (four bars) with the tips on, and even so, the sound is very audibly fuller with the tips on. The tips also make the EarPods fit more snugly in my ears. without the tips, the EarPods fit very well in my ears (more so in my right ear than in my left), but they are more stable with the tips on. On the downside, the tips make the EarPods less comfortable to wear and more cumbersome to put in (as expected for IEMs vs earbuds). I also wear the EarPods all day long (I work from home) both for background music and for Zoom/Teams meetings, and you can definitely feel it by the end of the day, whereas I can wear the EarPods all day long without the tips and almost forget they are there. So, here's the tradeoff: better sound, less comfort. Worth it for me, but your mileage may vary. Incidentally, I have tried real IEMs like the FiiO JD7 (excellent sound, very mediocre cable) and the Kiwi Ears Cadenza (okay sound, okay cable), and definitely found them a pain to put in and uncomfortable even after an hour or two, so I returned them.

Let me start by saying that I have little ear holes. As much as I love my AirPods, they’ve never stayed in my ears well and frequent use resulted in my ears hurting from forcing them in to stay put. (I didn’t know I’d have this trouble before I got them). I’ve tried a few different types of slip on covers (none with tips because I’d never seen them before) and they didn’t make much of a difference and if you sweat they were useless. I ended up ditching those and trying the NextCare tape trick and that did a bit better and a little bit of sweating was okay, but it still wasn’t great. But these. Holy craps. These things are magic. I’ve been moving and sweating for the last 2 hours and they have not budged. At. All. I have not had to reach up even once to adjust them in my ear like I do every few minutes without them. I have zero ear pain 2 hours in which I usually get after 20-30 minutes of usage without these tips. This makes me stupid happy. They definitely reduce the amount of outside noises that are usually a problem for me with the AirPods, but I wouldn’t say they cancel it. Sound dampening is more accurate of a term. I can still hear what is going on around me which is nice for safety reasons, but at the same time I can still clearly hear what I’m listening to on my phone. They have vastly improved the sound quality with all of the noisy stuff going on around me without making me unaware of my surroundings and I’m thankful for that. They slip on in seconds and fit so well on the AirPods that they stay on until you remove them (which also takes seconds). For those that have had the tips of their old earbuds come off and spent forever fighting them to get them back on, you will find none of that with these. I have to say that these are a must for us tiny ear hole people, anyone that sweats even the slightest bit, or moves constantly. I don’t think you’ll regret this purchase.

The AhaStyle Earbud Covers work very well, keeping the earbuds in place and eliminating the former irritation from continuously pushing the earbuds back into the ear. What’s very nice is that the AhaStyle Covers do not interfere with the small wire from my BTE hearing aids, making it unnecessary to remove the hearing aids while using the earbuds, as was necessary before purchasing the AhaStyles. Very positive is that ear wax does not seem to stick easily to these Silicone Covers, and they really do a good job of keeping your earbuds free of ear wax. I simply wipe the AhaStyle Silicone Covers from time-to-time with a small Alcohol Pad. One slight negative is that the ear canal portion of the AhaStyle Silicone Covers is a bit soft. If they were to make that portion a bit stiffer, this would allow for a more positive fit and feel when inserting. Overall though, the AhaStyles are quick and easy to slip onto the earbuds each time they’re used, the sound through the AhaStyles is great, and they make wearing the earbuds easy on the ears. Regarding the Silicone Carry Pouch, this needs improvement. While secure enough to hold the Silicone Earbud Covers themselves, the Pouch that comes with the AhaStyles is very thin and soft, and simply does not close securely enough to keep from losing your expensive earbuds, unless the pouch is kept in a pocket. You definitely do not want to put your earbuds in the pouch and then hang the pouch on a keychain or the exterior of a backpack, thus the 4-star rating instead of 5. However, I confidently recommend the AhaStyle Silicone Earbud Covers and keeping the Silicone Carry Pouch in your pocket.

I lost an airpod right out of the gate because it didn't fit snugly. Never found it. Ridiculous that Apple would sell one-size-fits-all airpods made out of slippery plastic. My hope was that these covers would provide a non-slip surface so my replacement airpods (2nd gen) would stay in my ears, and hopefully provide a better seal so the sound was better. These covers did both for me. They seemed delicate at the outset so I feared they would not last long. I've been using the first pair for weeks now without damaging them so they are not as delicate as they look. Some reviewers complain they are hard to get on, but it only takes a few seconds to insert an airpod into the cover and then work the holes in the cover over the holes on the airpod. There's no left/right - the covers fit either airpod. You have to take them back off after use for the airpods to fit in the charging case which is not a big deal, and certainly worth it if it keeps you from losing even one airpod. They include a silicone case that works fine. If you're wondering how much better your airpods will sound, try pushing them (coverless) into your ears so they fit snugly. That's how they sound with the covers on for me. I'm an average size guy and the large size fit me. Not sure there's really any way to tell what size you'll actually need, but I think the large would probably fit most guys. They are comfortable to wear - I don't even notice the covers are on. When I first got them, I found myself continuing to check every few minutes to see if both my airpods were still in my ears. Now that I know I can trust them, I walk or work outside for hours without checking. If you're on the fence, I'd definitely give these a try. For me, I had given up on wearing my replacement airpods outside or anywhere I might lose them - but now for the low cost of these covers I get to wear my airpods anywhere I want.

The product is good, but they sent me the small size instead of the medium size I’d ordered, and that size causes me problems with my ears. Anyway, I’ve bought a new pair in the large size... I hope there won’t be a mix-up with the size this time.

These are basically horrible! I bought these to help keep my Ear Buds in place and I couldn’t think of a worse solution. Save your money! These covers slip and slide all over the place and even get stuck in my ears when I go to take off my AirPods. I wasn’t expecting much, and I’m really not even a picky person, but these were a complete waste of money. Actually made the AirPods worse in staying in place.

These pod tips ROCK! I bought AirPods a couple of months ago and have tried using them several times. The downside is that my ears are tiny and the AirPods made my ears hurt because I had to cram them to get them to even barely stay in my ears. During Prime day I was actually looking at buying another set of headphones that I could use for exercise when I decided to search for AirPod accessories in a last ditch effort to use and not waste the $200 I dropped on pods. I am so glad I stumbled upon these!! An accessory that costs less than $8 turned my AirPods into earbuds that I can actually enjoy. Previously, I would simply be sitting or laying and the pods would fall out with no movement; once I installed the tips, I could be the lead guitarist in a head-banging Rock & Roll band and these puppies wouldn’t budge. (I even gave them the head banger test and they didn’t fall out 👍🏼) I’ve exercised on multiple occasions now and haven’t had a single fall out. These may not make everyone happy because they aren’t really great at noise cancellation but I didn’t want noise canceling headphones. Also, some people may be perturbed by the fact that you have to take them on and off when you store the AirPods but, the two seconds it take to put these on and off is a non-issue for me. It’s cool they also come with a little carrying keychain to store the tips in. I am so happy with this purchase and would recommend them to anyone with AirPods, especially if you have a hard time keeping them in place.

I normally don't write reviews, but I've had a love/hate relationship with my 2nd Gen Air Pods. I just can't get them to stay in my ears. They basically won't fit (too big) and push out to the point where it's hard to hear your music. I had been on the fence about buying these for months and decided that the price was very reasonable and if they didn't work, then I'm not out much. Let me tell you! Boy, Do these things work! The Air Pods stay in and the sound is great! I use the Small set and I have not tried the Large set yet. I will say this though, getting them on initially can take a few seconds, but once you've had them on and off, they slide on in about 1 second. The trick I found out was to put the Air Pods in my ears and then take them out and slide on the silicone covers. You only have to do that once. Then the covers will slide on effortlessly. Also, they won't fit in the case, and you can't charge with them on, but when it only takes about a second to take them off or put them on, it's hardly a bother. I am glad I finally have my Air Pods fitting and sounding great! Easily worth the money I spent!
