Stok SCC0070N Drum Charcoal Grill

I received this shiny new grill as a Christmas present from my 8 year old daughter. It was given as a companion for our family RV trips so we can have one that stays in the rig and one at home. I started using it after the weather warmed up this spring and have had about 5 uses of it so far. I am pleased with the ease of controlling the temperature and the large grill area. I was greatly disappointed today, when I started to move the insert and the tool/handle to do so, bent and a piece of plastic chipped off. I can still use it to remove and install the insert, but it does not release with the lever as it should. As I finished my steaks, burgers and hot dogs and started to close off the oxygen, I realized the lever to control the air through the bottom has seized and will not slide left. I really wanted it to work out because my daughter was so proud to have picked it out. We will have to see how their warranty department responds, since it is covered by 2yr warranty. Update: I was contacted by Stok and the defective parts were replaced very quickly. Their customer service dept seems to really care and want happy customers. I will give another star for their efforts

Great grill, love all the different add ons you can buy. I would definitely reccomend buying this grill. The only reason i gave it 4 and 5 stars is because the built in chimney didnt really work so i jut use the one we had to start the coals. Other than that great buy cant believe it is discontinued.

I purchased this unit to replace my aging Stok tower grill. I was very disappointed by the chimney system on this unit. The one on the tower worked flawlessly. The first time I used the drum grill, I could not get the coals lit after probably an hour of messing around with it. It's also quite a bit shorter than the tower, which means I'm leaning over all the time and causes my lower back issues to flare up (no pun intended).

We love the color. We have 2 of these grills and replace the grill with a Weber 22 1/2" grill and use a charcoal chimney. We find this is easier to use than the original grate that comes with the Stok.

This grill is way too complicated to achieve a simple goal: Grilled Meat. The included charcoal chimney is too wide and does not heat the topmost coals at all. The removable centerpiece is not a plus. The enameled coating on the grill cover chips way too easily. I would not recommend this to my friends.

I LOVE THE ORANGE COLOR AND SLEEK STYLING. It's great! The food cooks faster so you need to control the airflow and lid depending on how well done you want the food. The charcoal is efficient and ignites easier due to the funnel of heat directly beneath the food. It didn't take long for the coals to be perfect. Just wonderful! Love the ease of throwing out the ash due to the pan that collects it.

Takes some getting used to but after a bit was great for cooking everything I usually grill and more like veggies and pizza.

Grill requires a discipline to start (using built in chimney), but once understood it is an excellent grill.Problem is finding replacement parts (the ash catcher as far as I can tell can't be replaced), which makes the grill worthless.Quality of the parts is such that they wear quickly, so even if you say "that won't happen to me", it does. The handle for the grill, the wheels, the ash catcher all need replacement on my well maintained grill.
