Works finally, but it was very long process to connect to my wi-fi.Only managed to connect in compatibility mode, but even with that, it took me hours until finally connected it to my network.I have a lot of smart devices (over 30) and all kind, like ZigBee, Z-wave and some wi-fi, and I never had so much trouble connecting. Router was on the other side of the wall.They should place the LED on the same side as the switch. I have installed this outlet under the roof, for Christmas lights, and it was super hard to see the LED status. I had to do it in the dark, to see the LED light bouncing of from under the roof.

Works great! I actually installed Tasmota firmware on the unit. It talks to a MQTT server that's controlled by Node-Red on a raspberry pi that controls my Christmas lights. (The stock firmware and software would have done this but I have to mess with stuff ;) ) I have a few other sonoff units that I considered for the application but by the time I bought an outlet and box this was cheaper and easier.

This little wifi outlet is great, I have used the indoor versions of these and wanted to use them outside, but was always worried about the weather and them getting wet, Now there is no more worry, now I can control anything from security light to to christmas light over the holiday period. A regular outlet is ok, but being able to control it from inside the house, or anywhere in the world is much better.

I own many Sonoff plugs and light switches. I use the eWelink App to operate them. They all work great. This is no exception. I was concerned my WiFi may not stay connected to an exterior outlet. (I have a brick house) So far, no problems👍

Died the first time it rained. Junk.

Pretty easy to flash with tasmota over the serial contacts on the board. Stripped the end of an extension cord to make a simple outdoor wifi Christmas light extension cord. Wouldn't put any tension on the power wires though, it's designed for permanent mounting so the screw terminals are the only thing holding the wires in place.

Excellent product. Very easy to install and use, as part of my home automation system.

Worked perfectly

I got 2 of these. Bought the first one to control my outdoor lighting this summer. Got the second one now to control my Christmas lights. Pairing isn’t straight forward. I use it with eWeLink. Quick pairing doesn’t work as it couldn’t find the device. I used compatible pairing (you connect directly to the device’s Wifi instead of through router to program initial router settings). Instructions are within the app itself. You need to hold the power button for 5 seconds several times to get it into compatibility mode (continuous short flashing).

The media could not be loaded.  Everything was ok,installation ,Alexa integration ,IFTTT ( must paid subscription for eWelink app ) but i am not happy at all with hardware. Three prong plugs is ok but this Sonoff socket can't hold firmly any two prong plug or device (phone charger for example ) . When you plug charger ,connection is loose ,socket don't hold prongs firmly .From three S55 i bought only one has firm/secure connection. I am not sure how safe it is .

AS it is an outdoor waterproof plug. I bought it to control my Christmas lights in back yard. Therefore installing it now (Oct). Its suppose to work with Alexa. It was installed properly as I have power. It will not connect blue tooth or wifi. Instructions talk about blue lights for connection but it is a plug with no lights??? then instructions say move it closer to router again, this is an outdoor water proof socket. Once installed outdoors , there's no moving it. completely useless as intended.

This item is not a plug in and use. This is a call the electrician type on item. Very disappointing

The app does not link with ifttt , unless you pay for it .
