Perfect ergonomics/excellent value
I can't believe how much I love this knife. But nothing else that fits the hand quiet like this knife! It also has a cool look and a great utility hawkbill style blade. With some reservations I would be extremely hesitant about considering this as a tactical knife for self-defense due to its non-locking slip-joint. The company has not sold it as such but a number of so-called "YouTube experts" have claimed that the slip-joint is so strong that it will keep the blade from closing on your fingers. Plus the blade design general involves downward slashing stroked that doesn't put pressure on the hinge of the knife. I don't quite buy that but it is still a great knife and perhaps in a fight or flight emergency, it could still serve you well!

World Legal Fierce Tactical
Another Bada** knife from Lansky and Mikkel Willumsen, that's carry legal in 156 countries around the world. This is a bit ironic. The primary reasons for it being globally legal are 1) The blade is under 3" long and 2) The blade doesn't lock in the open position. It's ironic because you would think regulators would be more concerned with safety for the user than whether or not the knife is somehow easier to attack someone because of a locked blade. It's ironic that Euro regulators, worried about knifes being used in fights, have deemed legal a tactical one that looks like it was made for the sole purpose of hurting attackers. The blade is razor sharp and could easily hurt someone or cut through any number of inanimate objects, Any safety concerns related to the absence of a locking mechanism are addressed very well by the fact that the blade doesn't slide closed freely. It takes two applications of pressure to close the blade. It doesn't really detract from the utility of the knife, but with so sharp and fierce a blade it needs some safety feature. Great knife and excellent value.

But it works great as a tough utility knife
It seems to be a tough little unit. The handle is a little too thin and short for a fully confident grip. But it works great as a tough utility knife. This knife has no lock mechanism, just a very stiff 2-phase open-close action. On the plus side, very light for the blade size. Not a practical defensive weapon, unless it is already in your hand open, and someone jumped you while you were cutting boxes.

The LKN333 is a shorter blade model with a uniquely shaped blade which surprisingly makes it very useful in many cutting tasks
I bought this knife after purchasing the Original Lansky World Legal knife LKN333 model. The LKN333 is a shorter blade model with a uniquely shaped blade which surprisingly makes it very useful in many cutting tasks. I won't go into too much detail on what a good knife the LKN333 is since I already reviewed it on Amazon, however I will mention some of the ways this knife doesn't measure up. I thought this would actually be an upgrade from the original because it has a larger blade with a smooth Hawkbill blade. The blade it very nice showing off a satin finish on the bevel and lightly brushed surface on the flats. The geometry of this blade is a little easier to sharpen than the LKN333 version because it is nowhere near as complex, but thats where the advantages end. The LKN333 uses quality G-10 material on the handle while the material on this LNK444 has a cheaper plastic feel to it. I like the two tone color scheme but not at the cost of using a cheaper material. The material used not only makes the knife feel cheap in the hand but is so lightweight it takes a lot of the heft out of the knife making it unbalanced since the blade is so thick and heavy The LKN333 is much more solid and stable in the hand and feels much better in the hand when cutting. The LKN333 also has a nice exposed steel pommel with a lanyard hole which can be useful for many EDC or camping uses. They could have easily added that feature to this knife as well.Overall this is an OK knife but I gave it 4 stars because the price is so low, I feel that its still a great value for the price. Its really not the fault of this knife that it's older brother is also a tremendously great knife for a small amount of dough. I would recoment anyone looking to get this knife at least check out the LKN333. its much better in every way in my opinion and I own both. However, if oyu only want to buy one knife and insist on getting something of the Hawkbill blade variety, then this will be a great knife for the price. The scales feel a bit cheap but you can do much much worse at this price.

Excellent knife, proud owner.
I bought this as I found out a hawkbill knife is the BEST way to get the meat out of a coconut, and I love coconut. There is no flip switch and the locking mechanism locks at 90 degrees, and fully open. It folds open/closed with pressure (not sure of the name). I do not prefer this locking system as you have to be careful when closing the knife, but it is very sturdy when open and the blade will not wobble. This is an excellent knife and I am happy to own it.
