The only Keyboard for your controller that actually works.
I've been through a couple terrible but similar keyboards and I cannot find a serious flaw with this one. Some have said the battery recharge function doesn't work, but I'm here to tell you on mine it very much does. I agree with some of the complaints that the function buttons are weirdly placed but this is something you get used to over time, and it's still faster than typing with your joystick. The weight doesn't affect my gaming, in fact I find it better than a bare controller, keeping the weight evenly distributed, instead of front heavy (something you won't even notice till you play with, and then without this for a while). The light up function is nice and, so far, the battery power is great. I've yet to have this die while playing a couple days in a row, and ended up recharging it anyways after a while because...why not? The recharge function works on my controller and has actually fully recharged the controller, while still being useable as a typing apparatus, and continued to work long after the controller was fully charged. The little ring that goes around the PS button does NOT hinder the access to that button in any way, and fits around it cleanly. If it affects anything at all, I would say it does block the speaker on the controller, but the only reason that is a problem is because sometimes I will put my thumb over the speaker, so it doesn't tell another player what I'm up to (this is mostly a problem in GTA when you're calling a mugger or Maryweather on someone and your headset microphone can hear it because it's so close to the controller speaker). With that ring around the PS button, I can't put my thumb cleanly over it, and my friends know when I'm pranking them with a mugger attack. Heh. On the plus side, however, that ring has greatly decreased the number of times my thumb has slipped off the joystick and hit the PS button in a frantic moment. If there is one true complaint I have, and to some this may be a big one, is that I personally like to use my Playstation Camera's microphone a lot. To either command the PS4 or talk to other players without having to wear headgear. Because of this keyboard's pass through jack that allows you to still plug in a headset, the plug on the keyboard activates the PS4's headset detection, and disengages the microphone on the camera. I have not found a work around for this and sometimes find it frustrating. If you're playing a game at all that requires the camera, you'll want to take this off (or grab another controller), or plug in a headset. The headsets work great with it, but for someone like me who doesn't like to be tethered to my controller or have something in my ear when I'm casually gaming, this can be a major flaw. I almost removed a star for this problem, since for me it's a rather big deal, but being that most players use headsets and HATE the camera speakerphone option, this isn't a complaint many of you will have. I also have NOT tried a bluetooth headset in conjunction with this, but that's because I hate bluetooth headsets due to the need to recharge them far too often. Another small complaint is that the initial charge is rather brutally lengthy, I think it said 7 hours, but this isn't so bad as long as you leave it charging overnight while the PS4 is on sleep mode, or charging it while playing all day with another controller. I also don't recommend taking this on or off frequently as it fits snug, and could break or scratch the controller with constant attaching and detaching, but being that I have several controllers already, it's easy to just leave it on one, and grab that controller if I feel I will ever need it.Any other flaws aside I could note above may not be worth mentioning if you really need a keyboard for your controller, because this is the ONLY one that I've found that works out of the very limited selection out there, and works great for what it's supposed to do. If you're someone that for whatever reason will absolutely need a keyboard with quick access and not a separate unit from your controller, this is possibly your only option and, like me, you'll forgive the flaws. I've been using it for a couple weeks now and besides the few nit-picks I've mentioned, I have had zero issues that seriously affect my gaming experience. Is it a necessity? No. Will you regret buying this? No. So if you have the money, pick it up, if anything as an optional accessory as it is extremely handy in games with text based puzzles or functions, most notably the GTA Online text message function, or character creator games with name inputs.

Great idea but quite flawed
There's a number of problems with it, which I will get to, but I'm going to start with what I like.Pros:Fully functional keyboardBattery chargerHeadset pass-through connectorWell molded and overall good feel to itCons:Headset pass-through overrides other devices by making it think a headset is plugged inDifficult to plug in and very difficult to removeIt doesn't work well with a PCIt doesn't fit into any charging cradle I know ofSleep mode is a thing that some find frustrating but I haven't had any real issues with it. I never had any real problems with it taking a long time to wake up and work.Personally, I find the difficulty of connecting and disconnecting it from the controller the biggest problem. Also, this thing doesn't work well at all with a PC. It will not work with the PS4 dongle and plugging it into my controller completely screwed up my sound settings. I thought it might be a neat convenience for couch gaming on PC but it just isn't. It might work okay with an HTPC that doesn't have a separate mic connected to it but, after the mess it made of the settings on my gaming PC, I'm not willing to risk it. If I'm feeling adventurous, I might try it with Steam Link at some point and see if it still jacks up my sound settings with that too. If I try it with Steam Link, I'll update my review. While it fairs a lot better on the PS4, it still has its problems. If you don't use a charging cradle, only use headsets plugged into your controller (maybe wireless headsets work with it too, I can't confirm) for voice, plan to keep it connected 24/7 to the controller and only plan to use it with a PS4, you might enjoy it. Since I use a charging cradle, don't type often on my PS4 and would rather just plug in a charging cable than plug this thing in, I don't get much use out of it. When I do use it, I tend to use it without connecting it to my controller.

Great accessory
my initial experience has been very positive. I am using this on a ps4 controller for my HTPC & it works flawlessly. The keyboard is actually more reliable than my controller! (So far)I'd say I have used it for 10 hours so far on the original charge & still going strong. Being able to charge the controller with the keyboard battery is very helpful. It really does pair in about 1-2 seconds of me turning the switch on.As long as the keyboard stays functioning like this, it is certainly a 5 star product. The layout takes a very short time to get used to & they did an excellent job with the space they had.

Doesn't pass my stress test...
A good quality item. However, I personally bought this chat pad for quick chatting in Final Fantasy 14. The problems I am experiencing are:Unresponsive a lot of the time... I try typing and nothing happens.multiple letters... For example ill say ' I'm newwwwwwwww to this dunnnnnnnnnnngeon' (even though I've only hit the letter once)and even though its plugged in to a charger it goes dead if not used or turns off.Now these are problems I am experiencing so if you happen to be looking at this for Final Fantasy 14 or maybe any other mmo, GET A KEYBOARD. However for less high pressure games this could be very handy but overall it has caused me more stress than anything.Like I say though the quality feels good, its comfortable and looks good. Maybe it was never intended for an mmo though.

Great keyboard if you don’t get one broken 😕
The first one I got worked pretty well, so when the charging slot got off after more than a year of use I thought I would buy the same keyboard again since I liked it, but I guess I got unlucky because the new one I got didn’t even worked well from the first day. It takes a lot of time for it to ‘open’ and when it finally does, If I forgot to wait like 5 mins for it, it start to replicate the letters I started writting and other times, often skip some letters while typing normaly (and I never had this problem with the first so I don’t think I’m using it wrong). I liked the design of the keyboard tho so I which I could buy one that work well again ..
