I'v been working for IBM/DELL now server admin for a hosting company for the past 30 years so take my advise or forever hold your peace. This battery and like all other batterys you deal with will last longer and hold the charge better simply if you drain your battery and recharge it often. By doing so the cells regenerate making the battery more efficient. It's not good to leave the powercord plugged in all the time as the cells die out killing the battery faster as well as draining it faster. If you have to, pull the battery out if you plan to have it plugged in at your desk or a setting where you have access to power.This battery worked fine for my Dell 630. WIll have to snuggle and wiggle it for a good tight fit. It looks OEM but it's not OEM. After draining and charging it a few times and turning on power safe mode makes it last long. Hope this helps for you newbies who complain not holding the charge. These batterys are sitting in storage for years and regenerating is a must.

It fits well on my dell latitude better than the last one, I am not a techy so picking one was kinda hard for me but so far so good, it has 5 green lights on it so you'll know it's working when you press the juice button... On these batteries I learned that after a while the green lights go out one by one and that's how you'll know it's starting to get bad...the charge lasts about 1 1/2 to 2 hours before needing to be plugged up to an outlet again which is nice....Delivered on time and it was nicely packed.I'll give it 5 stars once I know it lasts for some time. :)

So far I have a battery that seems to be in working order and I depleted the battery just below 70% then full charged it up! Now letting it sit with a full charge for a day to look at the percentage of the battery and see if there is any major dip in my percentage. Hopefully I can report all is well! Gotta say though the feel isnt as sturdy as the original but in the same respect looks like it is sturdy and seems to fit quite well but the weight is lighter not sure if that is good or bad yet! Again, we will have to wait and see! Will update with pros and cons!

Why didn't I think to get this sooner? Works great on an old laptop that relied on its' power cord. If a kid ran by and the cord yanked out of the socket, anything you were working on was gone. If you scoot the laptop back a bit on the desk and it pulls out the port, POOF. I'm sure you can imagine how tiresome this was. For some reason I don't know why we dealt with it so long. We should have bought this years ago. Thanks for a great product!
