Haribo Gummi Candy, Grapefruit, 5-Pound Bag

First i want to address the complaints i've seen in the reviews for every candy available on Amazon: If you don't want your candy to melt or get stuck in one big blob, DO NOT have it delivered during hot weather! Can't believe this needs to be pointed out. If you have ordered during the summer before and never had this happen, then you were incredibly fortunate. Don't push your luck until you have something to complain about. Now i purchased these in april, so all is well. Not even halfway into them yet, but fortunately they are hanging in amazingly well. Excellent flavour but i'm more impressed with texture, which is almost as soft (like 97%) as the day i opened the bag. A miracle considering i foolishly didn't transfer to an airtight container, only rolled up the bag. I should be using these things as driveway gravel by now but nope, still tender and delicious. UPDATE: It is now the middle of October, and i just finished the bag of gummies. The last piece was still at least 95% as soft and moist as the day they arrived in April. I don't know how they make these candies keep so well, maybe black magic, but i won't question it and just reorder a new bag.

I got tired of buying these gummy grapefruits for my partner from our local mall, since they charge a ridiculous price per pound, I believe $12 a pound. Imagine my shock when I looked on Amazon and found I could get almost 5 times as much candy for the same price. These are the exact same brand I'm used to paying a premium for, they arrived quickly, were perfectly fresh, and have lasted well in the last month since I purchased them. I put them in an airtight container and just keep a couple of baggies around with smaller portions of candy inside so that they don't go stale. They taste fresher than the ones I get at the mall, and everybody who visits is delighted to have a never-ending supply of gummy candies to munch on while hanging out. These are really high quality gummy, and have a grown-up flavor that even people who don't usually like candy really seemed to enjoy. My mom suggested we dipped them in dark chocolate, which sounds like a good plan to me. Overall, you can't go wrong with this 5 pound pack of fresh gummys.

These are exactly what I was looking for. I always buy these from those bulk candy places in tourist area's of places I travel to and they are always some of the best candies. The grapefruit flavor is spot on, the sugar cover has a good feel to chew through and isn't to much or over sweet, sort of that sweet spot that makes you want a 2nd one, or in some cases a 12th one. Yummy as all get out and perfect for hitting that sweet tooth you get after a meal. This is a lot of candies and if you don't want them hardening up make sure you have a container about a gallon in size to keep them all in. I suggest putting them in smaller zip lock bags that way you can keep a few of those bags in the cupboard for later and slowly eat your way through a reasonable portion of them at a time. Now that I know a 5lb bag is an option I might never get these from the bulk candy stores again, then again who am I kidding.

I used to be able to buy these at my local Fresh Market. They stopped carrying them so had to look elsewhere. I found them at a local candy shop but they were outrageously expensive. These are perfect. They were very fresh, sold at a great price, delivered quickly and tasted awesome. I repackaged into smaller bags and have given a couple to friends who are now as obsessed with the grapefruit gummies as I am. I will definitely buy again.

I used to be able to buy these by the scope at my local grocery store, but they disappeared long ago. I was ecstatic to find these on Amazon. Others have mentioned them being bigger than they remember from Haribo's Fruit Salad. I am not familiar with this offering, but these are exactly what I remember being sold separate from other flavors. They are tart but do not have the pucker factor or sour candy. I think it is the perfect mix of sweet and tart, and now is what I crave when wanting gummy candy (hence this being my second order). I do like them immediately after opening, but I love them even more once I've left them open for a few days and they harden slightly and the center firms a bit. Ahhh.. perfection! You will notice a decent amount of white sugar at the bottom of the bag, but when eating the individual pieces, I do not notice 'bald' spots or lack of flavor.

So delicious! So wonderful! So addictive! Can't stop eating them I'm having them right now! The only thing I was not happy with was the price. Kind of expensive for an indulgence like candy. Right after I bought them the price dropped by about $4.00. if you can catch them at the right price, they will be comparable to price per pound if you bought them at a candy shop. But definitely delicious and wonderful especially if you like grapefruit. You might even like them even if you don't like grapefruit! I don't generally like gummy candy but I do love all Haribo products!

I am a sour gummy candy FREAK! I have always liked grapefruit-flavored stuff, and I have had these before, from candy stores, so I thought I'd try the large bag. I DO like them, but, I find myself wishing they had even MORE grapefruit flavoring in them, and at least 50% more sour in the powder coating. They are good, and very tasty, but, I grew up eating sour stuff on a daily basis, (raw currants, raw gooseberries, raw rhubarb, etc.) so, I have a much higher tolerance for sour flavored stuff. I wish the sour grapefruit flavoring came through more, and I wish the sourness of the powder coating was stronger. These are NOT advertised AS a particularly sour candy, I do realize that, I am just offering my opinion. =) But, I would STILL recommend them to anyone who loves grapefruit.
