California Costumes Werewolf Motion Mask

Ordered this mask for Halloween as part of the big bad wolf costume and absolutely loved it!. The overall look of the mask is great and there's a good high quality feel to the mask itself. The mask basically works by putting your chin into the mask so when you open your mouth the actual mask mouth opens for the great visual. Other things to consider when purchasing the mask. 1) The eye holes are rather large so if you want a super authentic look place black makeup around the eyes. 2) Depending on your head shape you may need to use the included inserts to get mouth to work for your face. I'm an average size 6'0 male and I was right on the border of needing to use one. If you order for a kid you'll likely need to use a couple but they are included you'd just need to attach them. 3) I'd highly suggest finding grey neck fur to go with the mask to help complete the look as the mask stops just below the chin. Finally be careful who you scare. I brought this mask out with my 6 year old and 2 year old nieces and they screamed so loud. Every time I see the 2 year old she says "Scared of puppy mask". Happy with the purchase!

this is fun and awesome to scare t.f. out of kids. mandible is a bit tight but if your not a wuss it works fine.

Pros: This mask certainly looks scary and scared all the neighborhood kids just fine. :) The animation looks really cool, when it works. The 'lips' actually peel back to reveal the 'gums' when you activate the animation. Cons: - The mask does not fit too well. It is a little large for my average sized head. - There is a strap that holds mask tight to your head; however, it is a bit difficult to get it to strap because the back of the mask has a lot of hair to it that sticks to the Velcro strap. - The aforementioned animation looks cool, but is rather tough to do. First off, the aforementioned strap needs to be extremely tight so that your chin is resting tight against the lower jaw area of the mask. When you have the strap tight enough, then you just force your chin down; which requires a bit of strength to do. I would say anyone under about 14-15 would not be able to complete this task consistently. I also believe the engineering or materials are not quite right on this mask because the mask is tearing on the lower jaw where you have to force it down to make the animation work. It started tearing after only a few days. - The hair on the mask is extremely ticklish and somewhat annoying while wearing the mask. The hair also sheds...almost as if it were a living thing. Overall, I think the mask is cool and it certainly is scary, but the mask has flaws.

You get exactly what you pay for. That said, a mask under $40 isn't going to be amazing but I wasn't looking for amazing, I was looking to get something fast that fits so I could make it amazing. Out of the bag it's quite disappointing. If you don't tweak it you'll at least have to fix the stuffed animal fur they use. The motion is perfect when properly fitten and doesn't need much to get it to move with your face. I tried it as well as my husband , we have two completely different face shapes and sizes and it worked well for both of us adjusted accordingly. The complaints I read from others are just novices who don't know how to fit a mask. A YouTube tutorial can fix that. If you spend a little time on it you can turn this functional $37 mask into a $300 mask that will terrify children and pets. This took me about an hour with some paint, hot glue, and synthetic hair. Would absolutely buy it again to do another mask transformation.

In a nutshell: this mask is amazing. My wife and I, along with our friends, are big into Halloween and dress up every year in a large theme. Normally, I will choose a character that doesn't have a mask because they aren't comfortable, you cant see out of them, and really just aren't very good looking. This mask is none of those things. The mask fit well on my head, not needing the included pads for adjusting the size. It was surprisingly comfortable to wear, not being too constricting or so loose it wobble out of place. The eye holes are big enough to see clearly out of, which means I will need to add minimal make up around my eyes to complete the effect (not a problem). And best of all, the mask looks great. If the mask just sit on my face without doing anything, it would still be the best mask I've ever worn. But with the teeth showing mechanism, it really brings this mask to life. I showed a couple of people the effect, and they were actually unsettled a little by how good it looked for being a store bought mask. And to top off this whole thing, this mask isn't priced ridiculously high. It's actually priced at about the same range as most other sub-par masks. I will definitely be buying more masks from this company in the future.

This was great. I wore it for a long time and it scares the crap out of my kids. Just what any dad wants on Halloween. The articulation is good. I'd wear a black face covering underneath though as your face is exposed when the mouth opens.
