So if I change my phone when my contract runs out, this will not work with another phone?

This specif model only works with a specific line of Note4 phones.  It's shape does not allow newer models of phones to work.  In November a consumer model of the Gear VR will be released worldwide that only costs $99 and supports all 2015 models (Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 Edge+, S6 and S6 Edge)

Is this worth it? like i see on amazon VR headsets for 49 dollars to 15 dollars. is the watching movie experience / game experience any better?

Bryan, This version is (in my opinion) 100 times better than the cheaper versions. Please keep in mind that this set is powered by your phone offering ventilation by powered fan to prevent fogging. This has the BEST movie watching experience than any other headset. Its literally like you're in a huge theater (by yourself) watching a movie (yes you can load your own movies). Also, you can change the theater venue. The movie watching experience is the only reason I would suggest paying the amount of money for this set. The other features seem like they still have a bit of bugs to be worked out. Watching a movie, my phone did not overheat but when doing anything else just about, it overheated and wanted to rest. After reading the reviews I thought me having the galaxy s6 it wouldn't have this problem but it did. Another thing to keep in mind is that the width of your eye placement I believe it's called PD needs to be right in line with the lens placement or you will have slight or less crisp viewing experience. The other sets also have different content available for them that you can't watch with the gear vr. I would say to purchase a less expensive version unless you want the ultimate vr movie experience. Doesn't the price answer this question?  I don't know how you would use this while living under the proverbial rock in which you obviously reside.  Are you from the future where the Note 4 doesn't cost ridiculously more than this $200 price tag?  If so, bring me back a note 15, I will put money into an account now and by the time it matures 10 years in the future, it will be enough to pay for the Note 15.  I promise, I'm good for it...lol
