Finally, Some *bleep*in' Peace and Quiet
I bought these out of desperation because I have been graced with a neighbor from hell. I won't go into details because this isn't a Reddit thread, but suffice to say that this person lives above me and drops heavy objects all day and night with enough force to shake the walls. Also, screaming. Unhinged screaming at all hours. Oh, and an alarm that goes off for half an hour to an hour at random intervals (this alarm is so loud that I can leave the apartment, walk outside and still hear it twenty yards from the building).I might be a lycanthrope, but we lycanthropes need sleep, too. Nobody wants to mess with a sleep-deprived lycanthrope. But I digress.Regarding the headphones: just wow. Simply wow. At first when I put them on, I was disappointed because they don't do much to cancel out talking, but I gave them a try.A-freakin'-mazing. I put them on, flipped the ANC switch, and my world was forever reordered. I couldn't hear a peep from my neighbor. I might have been transported to a pocket dimension of blissful solitude. It was beautiful. A single tear was shed. When the alarm went off, I found that I could faintly hear it with the ANC activated, but then I just played some relaxing ambient music along with the ANC, and I was back into my cocoon of peace.Lycanthropes already possess a tenuous grip on sanity, and these headphones saved my precious supply of mental fortitude. The sound quality is excellent. Everything is clear and it gives the sense that I'm immersed in the sound, not just that it's being played into my ears, if that makes sense. This is great for listening to music or creating a soundscape, but if you're into ASMR (don't judge me), these headphones do interfere with that deep-in-the-ear-tickling-the-inside-of-your-brain sensation that many ASMR aficionados crave. So your mileage may vary if you want an ASMR headset (I do find that it will suffice, but it doesn't perform as well as some of my other headphones).I've only used the headphones once for a phone call, but I could hear the caller clearly, and they could clearly hear me, so that was good. I haven't had the occasion to use the 3.5mm jack, so I don't know how well that works.Other pluses: I like how nicely they fold into their storage container and how easy-to-use they are (very simple and accessible instructions). And they're comfortable. A little bit heavy, but not uncomfortably so. And, even without switching to ANC, they offer good noise isolation. At this point, the only real downside to the headphones is that I wish the charging cable it came with was a little longer. There is one note I should add because I didn't do my research when I bought ANC headphones: the way ANC headphones work can cause motion sickness in some people. Turns out that I'm one of them. But here's the thing--in most people, it's temporary and can be overcome by acclimating oneself to the device through short usage. It was a trip, though, because I could actually feel a strange tingling in my body and felt my vestibular perception become impacted within a couple of minutes. The effects were much reduced when lying down, and within a few sessions of wearing the headset, all the side effects went away. I can now wear them while sitting, standing, walking, whatever. I'm saying this because if this happens to you, don't despair: it's not uncommon and it usually goes away and it's not something unique to this product. All right, with all that said, I will conclude with reiterating that I'm very glad I bought this headset. It was affordable, comfortable, and functional.

Solid mids and highs for $54 | Bass sometimes comes across muddled
I've done a huge amount of research on RCA. Unfortunately RCA is no longer really the same company that was started in the US in the early 1900's. The company was sold by GE to a French Company Thomson. The company then sold this back to GE and then now wound up again at another Multinational Voxx, which own Jensen Audio, Klipsch, and other brands like 808 as well. When you're buying an RCA product, which is audio equipment it's not RCA really anymore it's part of a multinational, which owns a bunch of other brands. Most manufacturers don't design or make their own products and this is very apparent in these headphones. They share many of the same parts and styling to other MPOW headphones. Even the marketing seems to be done by the same team that did the MPOW Headphone marketing on Amazon. The MPOW H12 headphones look strikingly similar to these. They have the same buttons. They even have the same headband that has the same plastic shroud and joints between the earcups and headband are the same. The battery rating of the MPOW H12 is 500mAh just like these RCA Headphones. They even have the same ports on each side of the headphone. So don't go thinking you're going to be buying an original design by an American Manufacturer, as these headphones appear to be rebranded MPOWs and that makes sense. The only have RCA branding at the top of the headband, which is a simple process to slick screen the top of the headphone. The earcups don't have any branding. Finally they use the same hardshell case that MPOW ships with their headphones too.Does it really matter that RCA appears to feature the same design as the MPOW H12? It's not a big deal, but it just means there's nothing special from buying RCA from a design perspective since they use the same off the shelf parts as MPOW.The sound that is produced by these is good. It won't win any awards, but compared to my Bose Quiet Comfort ii they are louder than those headphones at 50% volume. They have a bit of a low hiss to them. It's not that the hiss is overbearing it's not that noticeable when listening to music. The bass is a bit muddy, but these would be fine to take on a flight to block out noise. The mids are clear and highs are clear too. The performance for $50 is very solid for all types of listeners if you look past the hiss that can be heard sometimes. The noise cancelation with these cans is easily their best feature. They block out audio from cars on the street, people talking in my home, and other ambient noises. It's really cool tech they put into these for $54. And if you opt for cheaper MPOW H12 you can get the same performance for $42.I got these headphones for $46 as there was a $8.00 coupon I was able to apply to them at the time of my purchase to bring it down from $54. If I had known what I was buying before I would have bought the MPOW H12 for $4 less than what I paid for. The $4 premium I guess might be worth it to have the RCA branding if you care about RCA logo being at the top of the band. But if you want the same performance I'd say go with the H12 it's using the same parts and the design is almost identical to the RCA cans here.
