Amazon Basics Electric Vehicle (EV) Level 2 Charging Station, 32 Amp - 25 feet

I chose this particular charger over some of the others with more features like wifi etc because I assume that less stuff to go wrong is a good thing. I drive a 2020 Chevy Bolt, which already has the mobile app for your phone that lets me monitor, and adjust charge settings remotely, so I don't need that tech built into the charger.The charger came with the 6-50 plug that matched the 220 outlet that was already in my garage. so installing it was as simple as screwing the backing plate to the wall, sliding the unit onto the plate, and plugging it in. Only possible negative is that the cord is very short, and very stiff, so careful placement with regard to your 220 outlet is important.The charge cord, and connector seem to be very high quality, and built to last. It comes with a nice holder/hook combo to mount on the wall. I don't think this was shown in the item photos, so was a nice surprise. I opted for the 25 foot cord... this lets me charge in the garage, or in the driveway.Overall, i would highly recommend this product if you need a simple charger without a bunch of extra bells, and whistles.The 32 amp charge rate is a perfect match for the Bolt, and will charge my car to full from near empty in about 8 hours. With my usual amount of daily driving, it only takes about 2 hours or less each night to top it off.

Bought this as a gift for my parents to charge their 2018 Chevy Volt. It charges the batteries full in about 2-3 hours as compared to their 110volt charger that charged full in 13 hours.They are very happy with the holster and built in cable hanger, which keeps everything up and out of the way while not in use.I installed it by tapping into a dryer outlet. I instructed them to use the charger and dryer separately and never together just to ensure there is never too much load on that circuit.

So I looked at this charger for a while before pulling the trigger. I decided to get it “new” because used was only like 40.00 off. When it arrived it was clear that it was used. The box for the device had been through the ringer and there were no directions on how to set it up. No direction at all. It looks like there’s a few pieces that need to be screwed to something. Idk what goes where and there are no screws of any kind with it. Very disappointed.

hardwired inside my garage; fast charging=2 hours from empty to complete max charge; long cord reaches out into driveway or to front of my garage when my Kia parked inside; first problem was this week when power went out in house while car was charging and solid red light came on; I could not get it to reset and instruction book is not very detailed nor anything on line that explains reset. So I called my electrician who installed it and he came out to check my breaker box which was good and power to the amazonev which was good; tightened up a couple of points but we think what happened was I didn't unplug from my car then turn off the breaker in the box for 30 seconds and then restart which seemed to work. My light is back to green and recharging so fingers crossed that it keeps working. We tested it by cutting power while charging the Kia and again it went red but came back to green by rebooting the house breaker with a 30 second delay. My warranty is up in April so don't want to lose this especially with no more available as all the backorders plus rising gas prices. I was getting 100 mpg over the summer in my Kia going back and forth to work and 60 mpg in winter. Really happy I bought this model so far and nice tax break for the car and charger.

The media could not be loaded. This was an affordable charger with no bells or whistles. It just works. The only thing I didn't like was that the NEMA 6-50 cable it came with was very short. Inswapped that out for a NEMA 14-50. The inside of the charger is clearly labeled for where the wires connect. This charger is branded Amazon, but the printing on the circuit board indicated it was manufactured by LITEON, a company that makes a lot of commercial and home chargers.

So. The Tesla charger was out of stock off of Tesla’s website so we ordered this out of desperation. That being said, I’m glad we did. We had it professionally installed and it’s a fricken’ champ. It charges our model Y LR AWD a bit slower than the Tesla charger but we always wake up to a fully charged vehicle. we bought the J1772 to Tesla adapter from Tesla to leave on the charger permanently. It works like a dream.
